Newbe here looking for info on 36b late Nov.

Recommended Posts

Allen in Casa Grande looking for advice on hunting coues in 36b late Nov. I've killed lots of muleys but no coues, its about time I get one on my wall. This looks like a great site. I've never been in 36b, I can use any advice on the area and difference in habits and habitat coues prefer vs mule deer.

Allen,

Welcome.

I'm not an expert at 36B, but in hunting it a bit for Mearns, there seems to be great coues habitats all along the Ruby Road from the east to the west side. Glass the south-facing slopes first thing in the morning for feeding WT, following the sunline down. Then the north-side bedding areas during the day, or trails down to water holes. I like to watch the travel routes/saddles in the evening as they move from bedding back to feeding slopes. You can find em in the flats to the mountain tops of 36B

Duwane Adams book that is in the CWT.com bookstore would be worthwhile reading for a person new to coues.

Give Casey/Firstcoues a shout as he is now in CG.
