tkknc Report post Posted June 27, 2006 My kids have taken up an interest in archery, and are ready to be taught archery. When I was learning to shoot a bow, I learned how to release on a 5 lb bow that could be dry fired. Has any one heard of this type of bow? Where can I find one? It was my understanding the bows could also be used to determine your draw length. Thanks
phx hunter Report post Posted June 27, 2006 It sounds like the bows that professional shops use to check your draw length. They have almost no resistance. Your question got me wondering about my own kids learning archery. I did some looking and found www.kidbow.com . They have bows as low as 15 lbs. I would someday like to teach my kids and am interested what you find. Good luck.
galiuro mountain man Report post Posted July 3, 2006 Most of your low poundage childrens bows dont have enough power to break limbs or cables/ strings. Most of the time they are the bows that are 10 pound draw or lighter. GMM
