Tenderizing old squirrels?

Does anyone know a good way to tenderize old squirrels? All the young ones I shoot fall off the bone and are delicious. The old ones taste good but it's like chewing on leather. I've tried everything from frying stews to 8 hours in a crock pot. Any suggestions?

Do them longer in the crockpot.....like all day, then all night, then check and see....I don't think I have ever had a squirrel not be tender after crockpotting overnight

Try putting them in a ziplock bag with ranch dressing. Leave them for a day. Works good for other tough meat.
