Rain Gear

Recommended Posts

I agree with Coueshunter I also have the Cabelas Dry Plus gear and couldn't be happier with them. I was up in Payson this past weekend helping my buddy with his elk hunt. I stayed dry and everyone else was soaked to the bone! I have the light weight gear that stuffs into its own pack. Weighs just ounces! Now if I could only find some gloves that worked the same. It's tuff putting on gloves on with wet hands.

Hey, instead of waterproof hunting boots, you can go with bread bags over your feet and then stuffed into your shoes. That's what we did in Mexico one year! hehehe, it will match your hefty bag ensemble.

I have the cabela's MT050 and found it works quite well. I did like Brian did and went out during and after a snowstorm and layed around in it to see if it worked. Kept me nice and warm and dry.

But I do find them to be bigger than I like to carry around in my pack. So they tend to stay at camp more often than if I had some lighter rain gear.

 :P Do have any Idea how many bread bags I wore as a kid.

Well so far it is looking like the MT050 is the leader.

Any more inputers.

Maybe some of you have put on some extra weight

and can not fit into yours any more

I am not a big guy at 5'10 and 150#

I would be glad to give you something towards a new set that will zip up B)
