resident not pelagic orcas. prob from channel islands or san martin. great whites and orcas in northern sea of cortes. things be changing some in the ocean.

The first Facebook link shows a bunch of women on a panga watching the Orcas jump. If I hadn't just seen those same pictures today (Arturo sent them to a friend of mine here) I would have questioned whether they were actually taken in Lobos. That's because two things you never see in Lobos (or didn't used to) are Orcas and American women.

 

I saw you were joking that maybe an Orca would eat a sea lion. I'm told that an American fishermen just saw that happen down there. I hope it was the one that ate my Rapala.

 

I need to get down to Lobos in the winter some time. The latest I've ever been is late February and March, and I've only seen finback or gray whales.
