Mark Taylor and Doug McKenna 2003
Dec 2003
Unit 24A, Arizona
Both these bucks were taken side by side at 600 yards with a 7mm (the picture on the left) and a 30-06 (right). They could not put a sneak on ’em due to their location across the canyon. Both bucks were milling around and ended up standing broadside to them. The time of day was about 10:15 AM. The reload that Mark used was a 140 grain Combined Technology silver ballistic tip which entered close to the shoulder and somehow exited through the rump, fortunately without destroying the guts. Mark credits his marksmanship to the Marine Corps training.
