Tal shot this nice buck on Saturday morning in area 36A. He spotted him on a high hill while hiking a canyon. The buck had not seen him yet so Tal had time to lay down and get a good shot. Tal estimated the distance at about 400 yards. He held about 1 foot over his back and hit him dead center in the chest cavity with the 1st shot from his 30-06.
Oct 2006 – Tal recently updated the information here. He measured this buck at 104.5 gross and 97.25 with deductions. And he sent in a photo of his mount. Tal is headed out this year to the same area in hopes of finding another great buck!
