  1. excellent video!  We always try and give something to the ranchers as a thank you for continued access.  And we always report water line leaks or gate problems and pick up trash whenever we see it.  If I owned a ranch it would probably drive me nuts seeing a bunch of strangers parade through the land and being disrespectful.  So I am thankful for the ranchers who tolerate hunters access through their private land.  AGFD is working with ranchers currently to get more access to the state lands that have been locked up by some ranchers.  Hot topic for sure.

  2. I have no idea.  take a screen shot next time.  You could check your notification settings.   If you look in upper right corner of forum when you are logged in, you can click on your name to get dropdown menu and then select account settings and then notification settings.  Or click on the icon that looks like a globe and there is a gear box icon in there that says notification settings.  Maybe its related to something in there.

Glad to see you have them in the CWT store, good luck Amanda!

Yes!  I actually put the calendar in the store quite awhile ago, but apparently forgot to change the inventory quantity to more than the 0 it was set to from last year's calendar!  Luckily a forum member emailed me to ask when I would be getting more calendars in!

  4. yes, it's a result of the new software.  I am still working on getting this fixed.  It's a just due to some conflicts with old and new software I believe.  I don't think it puts anyone at risk, it's just a technical issue.  But hopefully will get it resolved soon.   I have an SSL certificate for the site, but due to some conflicts it's not recognizing it.  Mostly the conflicts are related to a file being referenced with the http:// address vs https:// at the beginning of the file address.

sorry to ask but where do i find the store on the new layout in the forum?

i follow your link and is fine but if i go on the forum i can't find it,

    thank you for your help

The store and the forum are different parts of the website.   I don't think I have a general link to the store in the forum (hopefully I will get a chance to add that soon).  But the direct link to the product in the store is what I posted and is repeated below.

  6. I am excited to introduce Arizona Field Optics to the CouesWhitetail.com community.  AZ Field Optics is a great business that will really help those of you looking to purchase new optics for your hunts!  AZ Field Optics was opened as a new business entity in August of 2017.  However, Arizona Field Optics is owned and operated under the umbrella of Jay’s Bird Barn and Jay’s Bird Barn has been in business over 15 years.  They have been selling optics since 2004 to the outdoor and hunting community.  This is a business dedicated to providing GREAT customer service!  I called and spoke with several of their customers and they told me, without exception, that they were blown away by the customer service provided to them.  One customer told me how the store let him borrow a pair of Vortex 15x56 for a hunt.  He used the binoculars on the hunt and loved them and so ended up buying them!  Another customer told me that he had a hunt coming up in Mexico and a friend that was going with him broke his tripod just before the hunt.  So he called Ryan (department manager) at AZ Field Optics and Ryan loaned him his personal tripod to take on that hunt in Mexico!  Wow, that’s customer service!

A great feature of this store is that you can go there and physically handle and compare any optic you are interested in.  They have every Swarovski and Vortex binocular on hand almost all the time. So you can go and compare and contrast each binocular and find the one that is best for you.  And they will allow you to borrow a pair to try on your hunt. They also carry a large assortment of their other products and have full access to the entire catalogue of Swarovski, Vortex and Kahles. They have invested in a large inventory and take pride in knowing our products.

Jay’s Bird Barn, the owner of Arizona Field Optics, has won awards on both a national and city basis—Best Retailer Award, and best small business award with the Prescott Chamber of Commerce.  Since Arizona Field Optics is located inside Jay’s Bird Barn we get a lot of foot traffic, we had over 30,000 customers inside our store last year.

I asked them what their top 5 popular products were and they said :  Swarovski Binoculars, 15x56 SLCs because we consider them the pinnacle of long range glassing in a bino, 8x32 ELs because they represent an extremely high quality optic in a nice lightweight package that is excellent for archers, Viper Line of Binoculars because the cost to performance ratio makes them a very nice buy for a lot of folks, Viper line of Riflescopes because there are a wide range of options and price points in that lineup, Vortex Razor 27-60x85 Spotter because you get a great scope for a price that most people can afford.  Also, as a bonus “item”, we recently became a dealer for Outdoorsmans in an effort to better serve folks in this part of the state and their products have sold very well in the short amount of time we’ve carried them.

“We are a family owned business.  We bend over backwards to take care of our customers.  We have an excellent reputation in Central and Northern Arizona.  We have amazing customers that keep coming back.  We have a great website, but we would prefer to do business directly with the customer over the phone instead of them placing their orders electronically.  Give us a call and we will work with you and get you exactly what you want. We know Arizona and the Southwest. We know the people, the places and the unique terrain and circumstances that make this such a wonderful yet challenging place to have fun outdoors.”

They also have an excellent Optics Referral Program.  “If you buy either a scope, binocular, or tripod equipment from Arizona Field Optics you are automatically entered into our Referral Program. When you refer someone to us, and they buy optics from us, you get a 5% store credit on their purchase and you can use it on anything in the store.  This program is unlimited in how much you can earn. You will get that same 5% on the first optics transaction of EVERY customer that is sent to us.”

  7. Hey All,

Forum member Darren Freestone has put together another great Coues Buck Calendar for us!

The calendars feature excellent photos of Coues Bucks for each month. And they have moon phases as well as the date that hunt applications are due for Arizona.

If you are interested in getting one, they are available in the CWT store. I only have a limited quantity, so if you want one, better jump on it soon. Calendars are $20 plus shipping.

My cell phone pics of the calendar pages are a little fuzzy, but the calendar looks great and is well printed.

Amanda, where do I find how many pts I have and where I am on the leaderboard?

I don't really know.  I looked around a bit to try and figure it out and wasn't able to, other than you can page through all the pages in the leaderboard area and look for your name.   I will ask tech support and see what they say.

  9. If it's just for grins, you can score it yourself to get an idea of how it would score.  If you want it officially scored, do as people have suggested and look through the list of measurers on the B&C website.  I am an official measurer, but I am not in Phoenix area.

I have an informational page on how to do that along with photos plus excel spreadsheets that will calculate the score when you enter in the values.

  10. Wow, I knew it was rough on you, but I had no idea how rough!  That's such great news that you can hike again!!  Take it slow and easy at first!

I recently injured my knee and am going crazy sitting inside when it's such great weather outside and it's only been a couple days for me!

Glassing and getting outside will surely help you heal your body and mind.
