I use my cams more for trapping anymore than anything else. I'd be sad if I couldn't see this anymore. (watch first two and last couple minutes ) https://youtu.be/u3iFup9MXV8 Brian

Just got email alert from chase. $135 card hit ffrom azgfd!! Brian

Anymore you can set up pretty much any credit or debit card to send you a text alert for charges over the amount you set. I have mine set to $100. Eliminates the need to check all day, but you go nuts each time you get a text notification chime. Ha ha. That's what I do. Every time I get an email chime I say " that's my elk tag." Brian

Looking for good boat mechanic in Payson Globe or Tonto Valley
standman replied to Coach's topic in Fishing
We regularly use Ken Simpson in Globe. Been great for us. I know he was hinting at retiring but he was still doing work last summer when we used him last. Brian -
if i dont get a tag, find someone who has one and go with them. but im going to get drawn for sure 100% no doubt in my mind. If i dont get drawn, I'm voting for Bernie!!! That way, next year me and everyone else will get a tag. Brian

My favorite setup is a strutting tom decoy with a hen laying on the ground and a Jake on top of hen. Gobblers can't seen to resist barreling in and trying to knock the jake off the hen. Brian

I didn't take much there I sold to another buyer. I sold one cat and two coyotes at globe to at least support the ATA. Yes, size matters. You wanna be at least over 36" in length. Just don't over stretch to make the bellies to narrow. Like the buyer said, he would rather have a 36" cat that is stretched to a proper width than have that same cat stretch 40" and be too narrow. The buyer is buying bellies on the cats. The brighter, whiter, clearer the better. Make sure your put up is as good as it gets. In this market, bad put up fur won't sell and is not wanted. (Bob, trphyhntr, and lark should have a field day with this post) Brian

Fox was probably averaged under $9Coyote was probably in the mid $20 Bobcat high was 600 then a 500, maybe a couple 300, few in the 200s and the rest probably 135 and under. All other species were no bid. Like I said only one buyer and he specifically was a cat buyer. Only wanted the best cats all other cats he basically has not much use for but tried to put a price on, and that also goes for the other species. Prices averaged higher at other state sales or if you sold to different individual buyers.

Not much to share. Very little fur, maybe 85 lots total, only one buyer, and only a hand full furs he actually wanted to buy. I feel he did as good as he could have done with being the only buyer there and not much fur to look at. Brian

Here are some that are on closeout. May or may not be what your looking for. http://www.fntpost.com/Products/Fur+Handling+Closeouts/Hardwood+Fleshing+Beams+(B+Grade)

Heard a report today...a guy went and caught quite a few catfish and one big crappie. Tons of shad. Level at the dam was 40-50ft. Level at San Carlos Point 10-14ft. Lots of new trees in water in upper end of lake. Boat launches are good and on concrete. You do need to get a reservation permit to fish it. Brian

Ok, here is a trail cam video of a cage trap of mine taken this morning. It is fairly long (15:30). If you watch just the first 3-4 minutes and the last 3-4 minutes it will probably be all you need to see, or you can watch the whole thing Just know that at the end you will laugh out loud at what happens. Does anyone with 10-11pts want to put in together?

I'm starting to be glad I only have two points. Brian -
Ha ha!!! Guys if i had the choice tomorrow i would trade any 105 to 110 buck with a rifle for a 25 inch type brown from a creek in az tomorrow. There isnt a 110 buck walking that could rattle my nerves like a 25 inch type brown from a creek. I like fishing that much, and a giant trout from az is much much much harder to find than any 110 buck. There's so many 110 bucks in this state it's not even funny, but there's so so few really big trout. 25 inch trout are about as rare as a 130 buck in my mind. I live in the White Mountains. I grew up catching trout. I've caught a bunch of big trout. Caught some good ones out of Sunrise this past year. However, I can't hardly stand to go trout fishing anymore. I'd rather catch a 2lb crappie than a 20+" trout, but that's just me. I've been trying to to catch a 3lb+ crappie most of my life and can't get it done. That's what gets my motor running. Its just interesting (sometimes funny) to see everyone's views and opinions on different things and what they are passionate about. Brian really, fish san carlos much? i feel like ive caught dozens of 3lbers. i only weighed one on an electric berkley scale 3.14oz. I fished it more than probably anyone on this site. Breaks my heart with the fish kill off. I constantly came across people on the lake that say they have crappie that weigh over three pounds till you break out the scale. I can't remember a single one that made it over 2.5. I have family that have caught 3 total. Until the scale goes on them I take their word with a grain of salt. Brian Ha ha!!! I stopped by last year it was full and the snowbirds were cleaning up on crappie. What! don't you dare mess with me I don't know how to feel about this right now, it's too early to play with my emotions. who else can confirm?? I told my dad. He spends his winters and springs in Globe. He is going to go and see what he can find out. Head to the lake and talk to some people. If the weather at the end of this next week is halfway descent we may even go hit the lake. I'll let ya know what I find out. Brian
