My grand nephew Christian got a his first ever big game animal this morning. A nice muzzleloader cow elk. He made a great 100 yard shot. The tag was transferred to him from his great grandpa and his first days to hunt was two days ago. He did awesome. Brian

We cut them off. Spooked them but there was so many elk not all knew what was going on. Set him up on a lane I thought they would come through. When one got in the lane I cow called, stopped her and he was ready for the shot. Brian

I leave them about 6-8months and then take a pin, make little holes in the tips of the antlers, hang upside down and let any moisture drip out of tips. Leave them that way until everything feels dry. Have some over ten years old that look great till this day. Brian

I usually dont catch many greys but Ive actually been trying to catch them along with cats this year. Its all about putting a morsel out in front of trap and leading them in. Got eight so far this year. The two badgers were both incidentals. First ones ever in a cage. Sending both off to get tanned along with a coon and ringtail. Got a little project Im wanting to do with them. Brian

Any Sign of Rut Activity for Archery Hunt in Southern Az?
standman replied to azbullelkman's topic in Mule Deer Hunting
All this happened when baiting was legal. And it wasnt just one ranch it was unit wide. Outfitter had nearly 100% success rates and the amount of archery deer killed by outfitter and all other hunters in unit supposedly exceeded the percentage allowed for archers in the unit. Thus the shortened seasons. Not sure how they come up with all the numbers as there is no mandatory reporting. Anyway, the outfitter fights every year to get seasons reopened. Brian -

Hes a high country cat. Skin was white. No blue at all. I imagine lower elevation fur still has a little to go. Brian
