Well funny how that works, headed up the hill this morning my ram diesel tossed the turbo actuator. 3,000 bill coming my way. Extended warranty covers it luckily just barely. Luckily we limped into verde and have a place for the mules. Bummer, guess it could happen. Repair guy says it’s not very common but he has done a couple.

First hand I have seen deer and elk back while it was still smoldering. Also the same year of a big fire I’ve seen them back in burned areas. Remember even though it looks really bad there are always patches of habitat or mosaic type burns. Pretty interesting to follow tracks in ashes for hundreds of yards and watching deer munch on little green patches in the middle of ash.

If you do a little research you can do a little work and mod your own plug. I did some of my own engineering on mine and made two of them and have had zero issues. Not a big mod if you look into it but then the new plugs are cheap also. Im a machinist so hard to buy what I can make. I wanted 2 so I could swap out quick while target shooting and not have to clean.

Just a little tip that works for me, cant say im an expert but I was new to this a while back also. I started weighing my loads ahead of time and using speed loaders. I don't have my load handy but ounce I started doing that my groups were much better. Im also running BH209 but im running 200 grn bullets also with sabots. One other deal is I can get 3 shots close then the groups walk off if I don't clean real good after that.

My last two truck were 6.0 f250 and now the popular among smart buyers the ram 2500 cummins tradesman. I had all the usual issues with the 6.0 ford but made 10 years out of it and sold it for 9000.00 with 265,000 miles, hard to complain on that. even with all the bulletproof add ons and chips that ford was not even close to this cummins. I have had zero issues other than a few recalls. 130,000 miles and have never reset my milage which is at 19.2 mpg avg which includes a lot of towing and offroad. we are looking at picking up a 3500 this year with the upgraded trans also in the tradesman. I think I was 44,500 out the door with 2.75 financing and I did a refi with my union and took it down to 2.25 % just for switching. couple more payments and ill be shopping. Keeping this truck for the wife and going to flat bead my new one. If the virus don't get me first or I become non-essential. My buddy bought a f250 diesel last year for 68,000 and after adding on a ton of toys he is up to 80,000 plus. Bad but truck no doubt but I cant even begin to imagine. Ill have 2 trucks for almost the same price, especially after his crappy finiancing. Oh and his avg mpg is 15 mpg

even at 250 cfs I wouldn't cross that thing. its been dug out near the east shore over the years and at 250 a few years ago my mule "whom is tall" sunk to the saddle and refused to cross. Like 5 years ago I drove an f250 from sheeps to cave creek using that east side. Hit or miss weather you can cross. I ran into a guy javi hunting that got stranded over there for 3 weeks when the flow came up. That would be nice. haha

ya you suck, I would start looking into that fire up there. could mix things up a bit. Last time we were up there we saw deer like we were back east.

Have you guys been up there on the overlook at the end of the memorial trail? craziest sight, they were so close to safety. But the winds up on that ridge are crazy

Here’s my little smoker. Since I know some will ask that’s a home made pizza oven on top.

as soon as I figure out how to catch some more stripers I’ll post up a fish dish for ya. Real easy and real good. And there’s always fish tacos !!! My personal favorite.

Brisket I rubbed with R butts are smokin rub and put in fridge overnight. I trimmed fat for burger grind and vacuum sealed. Trimmed whole brisket into point and flat. On smoke for first hour in natural wood smoker With propane back up. 225 for 11 hours or until 165 internal. “ pulled the flat 1 hour before the point and wrapped. Set it aside until the point hit 165. wrapped both tight with foil then back on propane heat at 275 for another 2 hours or so until internal hit 205. “Again pulled flat sooner than point” wrapped both in towels and put in cooler for 1 hour before slicing and serving to my wife and the dog.

Home made slaw is red cabbage, green cabbage, carrots, green onions. sauce is 4 tbsp mayo 1 tbsp vinnegar 1 tbsp lemon juice 2 tbsp Dijon mustard 2 tbsp honey 1 tsp celery seed

Added wife’s homemade slaw and my homemade bbq sauce. sauce is as follows 2 cups catchup “guessing cuz I don’t measure” 1/4 cup vinegar of choice 3 tbsp wershtershister 3 tbsp lemon juice plus zest 1/4 cup brown sugar 1/4 cup white sugar 3 tbsp corn syrup 3 tbsp honey 2 tsp powdered mustard 2 tsp powdered onion 2 tbsp your favorite bbq rubb “r butts are smokin” sprinkle of red pepper flakes

Our brisket is in the cooler resting. Went in at 2am this morning.

I know most people dint know that there’s a pipeline running down all the way off the rim from that lake.

Great job guys, We planned on smoking a bunch this week as well, I had frozen a bunch last time and pulled the last of it out for lunches so wife comes home with brisket and shoulder yesterday.

Wear the mask when in close quarters it helps and its not that hard

My second biggest gripe and one big reason for a lack of friends, I just can’t respect someone who talks a big talk all dang day and doesn’t vote. I was a mess when I was young and had a crap run as a kid so when I fought to dig myself out of my youth I was proud when I was able to vote and join in as a decent citizen, if you look at voter turn out it is sad, just embarrassing actually. Until we fix the local law making votes by adding weighted votes based on electoral college type model the major cities will always decide for the rural communities which if I had to guess have a larger percentage of registered voters over cities. I am just tired really, just dang tired of the lack of common sense and respect for ones self. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if the majority of hunters “using this term lightly “ don’t vote. I went to a few game and fish meetings including the ones for raising the cost of license and tags and you guessed it, 3 dudes showed up. There were more game and fish employees than public by 3 to one. I wish I had a good fix, I don’t but I really wish I had something that would help.

I went with the cabelas carnivore 1 horse I believe and am very happy with it so far, really chews some meat up. And although its not as nice as the 30 lb stuffer we picked up off here it has a nice screw auger style attachment for stuffing that works pretty well. nothing worse than using a grinder for stuffing sausage.
