.030 Diference to O-Give on Berger 210 LRBT
FB67 posted a topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I have been shooting the 210 LRBT Bergers in my 300 Win with good success. I picked up a older box of them and they are .030 longer to o-give then the last 200 I have shot. Has anyone seen this before ? -
.030 Diference to O-Give on Berger 210 LRBT

Thanks for the replies. I think I am having the same issue you had .308 Nut, I may have stated it incorrectly in my original post. I have to seat the round .030 longer to be .050 off the lands so the Meplat to O-give is shorter or less then the last batch of rounds I used. Not sure if I am saying this right but there is a difference none the less. Since I am not hunting with them competing for a fancy trophy or bragging rights, I will go out a shoot them look at the results and see how they perform. Fortunately they still chamber ok so no issue there. -

Got out to the range over the weekend and was happy with the results. Decided to shoot 210 LRBT with 75 grains of H1000 jumping the lands .050. I installed the Jewell trigger and torqued stock screws and while I was at it checked scoped screws, all good. Started at the top right first two rounds low, adjusted up three clicks shot three more. The trigger at 1 pound was a bit to light for my taste so I adjusted the pull to 2 pounds. Moved to top left shot two rounds bottom right, adjusted 3 clicks left 1 click up three more rounds called it good. Let the rifle cool down completely then went to center target four rounds all touching then pulled one low . Moved to bottom right four rounds one hole pulled last round low . I figured out the best way to shoot a great 5 shot group is only shoot four rounds and stop

Thanks guys I will shoot it before I adjust it just seems very light probably because I am not accustomed to it. Now if I could find some new 300 Win brass not sure what the deal is but cannot seem to find any right now.

Went out yesterday to try some different OAL's probably not the best day with 15 mile an hour gust but the bullet drop plus did calculate a .8 drift at 100 yards and a 3 inch drift at 200 yards and it was spot on with what I was seeing, of course I would hold over to compensate and the wind would die. Only have the 100 yard target pic, clockwise starting top left jumping the lands .025 .035 .055 and .075. .025 and .075 were the tightest groups. The random shots were already on the target used some stickers I bought off Amazon. Due to the wind I will try these loads again and see if it improves. Going to add break and jewel trigger as a Christmas gift to myself, I think my shoulder will appreciate it also. Using 210 Berger LRBT with 75 gr. of H1000 pushing them.
