Send it on Tuesday it will increase the odds.................................................of me getting a tag.

I've had the 2015 list on my desk for a week already planning for this years list. I need 10 minutes and 7 of those will be to write the check and walk out to the mail box.

I live at 3000 ft. elevation and notice a yard or two difference in my sight tape each year when I shoot at the Sunrise 3D tournament which is at 9000 ft. elevation. It's not a drastic difference but you'll want to shoot at the higher elevation and adjust if needed before you hunt.

Semi Custom 280 Rem. with 140VLD's............ if I get a leftover tag.

On the Ford question, I have no idea if it will fit. It was custom ordered for my 2011 GMC but I would think the beds are fairly similar.

I might be interested in trading something for this. What do you have you would like to trade? PM me.

Best Rifle Scope with custom turret option
BMart replied to joeinaz's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
I use the Zeiss Conquest HD5 3-15x42, it's very clear and seems to track true. I do have a question that goes along with people saying not using a custom turret. I'm mainly a bow hunter but do try to get leftover tags down south while I wait for my archery strip tag. I set up my .280 Rem in hopes to shoot out to 5-600 yards max. I don't have any care in the world if it shoots past that. I've used a chart for the last 3 seasons with this rifle but have considered getting a custom turret built. When I change all the parameters on the ballistic calculator there is very little difference out to 500 yards on bullet drop. If you are only going out to 500 would you consider a custom turret a good option for shooting that mid range? I have a load developed already for 168 grain Classic Hunters and I'm working on one for 140 VLDs so 2 turrets would cover this rifle for almost any hunt I'll need it for. -
The width is 72" on the outside edges all the way down. Length is 74".

I'll be in Phoenix on June 4th and I can bring it with me if there's interest.

When I was on my antelope hunt in unit 1 last year I glassed up some sheep just SW of antelope mountain. I didn't know there were sheep in the area and almost fell off my chair when I saw them. Then I drove down the road and saw all the signs warning drivers they were there. haha.

I've messed around with a lot of different arrows in the past, all the ones talked about above, and always go back to Gold Tip. I shoot Gold Tip Velocity XT 300's with a 100 grain brass insert. I like Axis arrows but would only use half out inserts. Firenock makes some and Black Eagle makes them for the Rampage shaft. My opinions: - Arrow weight has more to do with penetration than arrow diameter. Shooting in a target the skinny arrow will penetrate more but you are shooting animals with broadheads cutting a 1" or bigger hole that is lubed up with blood. - .244-.246 arrows have the best inserts- no strange threads, no bending, no broadhead adaptor rings. - All quivers hold .246 carbons, only some hold VAPS/Nanos. - I'll take a 450-475 grain standard size carbon with a sharp broadhead moving at 270-280 over most any other set up. Simple and lethal. - Buy Gold Tips, watch Tim G's Arrow University videos on arrow building, kill stuff.

**UPDATE** So, this turned out a little different than I expected, thought I would share. I've left 5 messages with the Tucson G&F office to have the unit manager call me to see if I can legally hunt this goats. I never received a call back. Last week I'm sitting in my office and a coworker from the office across the street comes over and tells me he saw my post on here about the goats. He asked me if there was a black one and a brown/white one?.....um, yes. "Were they on the top of XYZ hill?"...........um, yes. "Oh, I saw those goats too", he says, "I have pictures of them sitting in my buddies lap petting them" My coworker and his friend were chasing javelina in the same area when they stumbled on these goats. They tried to move in closer to see if they could get a shot off at one of them. THEN, the goats came right to them like they wanted to be hand fed!!! Thank you Mr. Game Warden for not calling me back and saying I was legal to kill these goats. I would have had to move across the country if I posted a hero picture on here with dead goats then the next day someone posted a picture of them petting the dang things.

Has anyone ever seen a wild goat before? Like a milk goat you would see at a petting zoo? I found some today on state land and wondered if they were legal to hunt like a feral hog would be? They were way up high on a rocky mountain top in an area that is fairly far from a ranch or house of any kind.

Yup. I use my Cabelas card all the time. The available credit limit changes immediately but nothing shows up as a pending charge for a few days. I'm sure most people seeing charges on their Cabelas card today could have looked at their available credit limit on Friday morning and would have known they were drawn.

I doubt the people with Cabelas Visa cards are actually being charged today. I've been applying with a Cabelas card for years and the charges always take a few days to show up. They probably could have looked at their available balance on Friday and known they were drawn. But since I didn't get drawn yet I'm hoping that everything I just said was wrong and my card gets charged.
