Mike, I will be sure to pray for you as well. Not too sure what to say, but will definitely speak to HIM on your behalf. I think you are doing the right thing by sharing things with friends and asking for help. Shows humility. Thought I might share a few thoughts that came to mind as I read your post. Don’t know if they will help, but I hope so. There have been a few people to have to endure pain before, like Job, Paul, David and obviously Christ. I love how Job responded to his situation, after his “conversation” with the Lord, and God had questioned him, his response in 42:5 after all the pain he had suffered through, was “My ears had heard of you, but now my eyes have seen you.” And his relationship with God was much closer because of the pain he had gone through. David, when he was on the run from Saul, had to deal with a lot as well, and through the book of Psalms he learned a lot about dealing with grief. Here is what he wrote in Psalm 20: 1 May the LORD answer you when you are in distress; may the name of the God of Jacob protect you. 2 May he send you help from the sanctuary and grant you support from Zion. 3 May he remember all your sacrifices and accept your burnt offerings. 4 May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed. 5 We will shout for joy when you are victorious and will lift up our banners in the name of our God. May the LORD grant all your requests. 6 Now I know that the LORD saves his anointed; he answers him from his holy heaven with the saving power of his right hand. 7 Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God. 8 They are brought to their knees and fall, but we rise up and stand firm. 9 O LORD, save the king! Answer [a] us when we call! Then in Psalm 37 he said: 4 Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart. This verse applies to your situation I think. He knows your emotions and desires and he feels your pain. For whatever reason, but surely there is one, he has allowed you to be where you are, and experience what you are going through. You are right on when you say “GOD WILL PUT ME THROUGH WHATEVER HE FEELS NECESSARY TO MAKE ME THE MAN, HUSBAND, FATHER THAT I AM OR THE PERSON HE WANTS ME TO BE.” I don’t want you to feel like I am preaching at you, just sharing from the heart. I also don’t want to give advice or tell you what to do. Scripture tells us what David said, delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. If you can do your part of that, He wont fail in His part. Also, thanks for your service to the county, means a whole lot to a lot of us. Darren

I know I must have tipped over the edge of the paranoid hunter cliff at this point. But I am wondering if anyone else has joined me. Surely some of you have thought of this sort of thing as well. Last week I ordered some MORE Luminol.... There is a new kind out, called Bluestar that is supposed to be much better and brighter. It will react with the smallest amount of blood and cause it to glow in the dark bright blue/green. Having looked for blood in the dark more times than I care to count, and having lost track of animals by not being able to follow their blood trail, I am hoping this might help in that situation. Here is what their website says... BLUESTAR® FORENSIC is a new reagent whose purpose is to reveal blood stains that have been washed out, wiped off or which are invisible to the naked eye. This product is intended for crime investigators. Based upon chemiluminescence, its unique formula qualifies it as the most effective blood revealer available on the market, for crime scene as well as forensic lab use. BLUESTAR® glows bright (the glow does not require total darkness to be visible) and lasts hours after mixing. and a link... Bluestar I will be carrying it with me in my pack, and should the need arise, hopefully it will help. Twoguns the Paranoid

Good luck this weekend to all those going out. Be safe and shoot straight. I have to go to the feed store tomorrow and buy a bear tag, turkey tag and lion tag....ouch. But I can only hope I get the opportunity to fill at least a couple of them. Can't wait to see the pictures start pouring in of all the success stories. I'm a nervous wreck. Twoguns

Anybody else watch RelentlessPursuit on the Pursuit channel? I love that show, they are the most committed, dedicated hunters and make a great show. I consider last nights show a good omen...they were in AZ or NM hunting Coues Deer. They were hunting from ground blinds and tree stands and even rattled in a couple. I think it is a good omen because come this weekend I will be sitting in my ground blind waiting for grey ghosts to show up. I have been having my doubts about the possible effectiveness of hunting this way, but that show got me all fired up! Good luck to all stick and string hunters this weekend, I will be out there with you. Twoguns And if you havent watched Relentless Pursuit, it is on channel 608 (Direct TV) at like 7:30...

you can put a wood box around your camera with screws or nails sticking out of it so that they get a poke if they stick their nose in it. Works great for bear or cow.

I think its an arrow shaft. The bull we killed 2 years ago had an arrow shaft sticking out of its neck with the broadhead still inside. The skin had healed aroud the arrow and we could not pull it out till we skinned it. They are tough animals for sure.

+1 I love mine, and a quality product.

Dick, we had a great time at the BHH. What perfect weather and great scenery. My buddies and I took our 6 kids and had a terrific time. They loved the kids course and loved getting a free t-shirt. We will be planning our family vacation to the mountains for the same week next summer, just so we go to the shoot. Thanks for your hard work on the board, and enjoy your retirement. -
Rusty, you just made my day. I just bought one from JAMARO, and now I need to sell my Nikon 440. It is 2 years old and works great if you are interested. Will send you a PM, but I am on vacation in White Mtns till Monday. Darren

Unit 21 MULE DEER for 4 of us.

I finally finished a couple homemade cameras and deployed them last week. Here are my first pictures. I'm just glad they are working.

Thanks for the kind comments. As for the way they are strutting in front of the camera up on the rock....that takes a lot of training.

I think it is hard to say where he will end up, but he is off to a good start in those pics. He is heavy and his bottom end is strong. I definitely think you need to get another look at him.

Cant wait for archery elk season to hurry up and get here.

last weekend at a shoot, one of the targets was set at 3 yards, and someone said to use your 40 yard pin on it, and it worked. not sure other than that. I know my 60 yard pin is not the same as my 20. Guess you just have to try it out.

what is in the foreground of the 2nd pic? Another buck?

+1 + 2 Also, make sure you are using string wax every time you shoot. It will make your string last much longer.
-
I just bought a pair of 15's from sportsmasguide. they are columbias and were only $50. undefined

you will probably need to make a few minor adjustments if you switch to a loop... String loops are awesome, and they save your string serving, and maybe even make you more accurate downrange.
