Boy, the self righteousness of some of the comments on this thread are discouraging. So many pass judgement and speak of things hey do not know enough about. First, the distance from which an animal is shot is only 1 factor in a very complex equation sometimes. I do agree bad decisions are made by hunters at times, and that most of us should slow down in the heat of the moment and be more patient. Second, I think the biggest mistake made by some archers is not spending enough time in the offseason shooting and getting more comfortable with their equipment. If enough time is spent with today's amazing archery equipment, some remarkable shots can be made. I have seen them, and made some myself. Third, it is not just archery hunters that are often too lazy to spend enough time looking for a wounded animal. At my age I think I can safely say too many people are too lazy period. Fourth, it is only because of forums like this that it is even possible for us to know of all these wounded and/or lost bulls. If we could not communicate across the state in an instant, we would certainly know much less. Point is, maybe less bulls are wounded today than ever before, we just have a way of knowing about the ones that are. FYI, on my last archery bull hunt I wounded six bulls all at over 100 yards before I finally killed the seventh. Boy was I glad too, I was running out of arrows...ok, not really, that's a lie...they were all over 200 yards... Twoguns

As a high school teacher, I would have some serious hesitations about this. Teachers already face more scrutiny and liability than just about everyone but police. I think this is sorta a lose lose situation. Most likely damned if you do, damned if you don't. I don't know what the right answer to this problem, but if it comes down to arming teachers as a first line of defense...sign me up.

Yes the bulls were Down in the canyons for the most part. Hard hunt from what I saw.

I have a 20 - 60 x 80mm Nikon spotting scope for sale. It is a few years old, but is in excellent shape. The glass is perfect. It has a case, and a built in sunshade. Works very well for digiscoping. I will include my digiscoping adapter with the scope, which will mount just about any point n shoot camera to the scope. I need to sell to pay for all the Christmas gifts under the tree for my 6 kids... Paid about $350 for the scope new. Would like to get as close to $200 as possible. Any offers welcome. Bill, we were staying in the Honeybee lodge the third week of July, and had a brown phase bear working on getting in our dumpster. We watched him from about 30 yards for quite a while, our kids thought it was great. Found out the owners named him Henry as he is a frequent guest in the neighborhood. Maybe same bear...

Just hope you find it early enough in the morning before someone else does and takes it. It sucks to find a gut pile...
