Bull Elk Ultimate Fighting Championship
TwoGuns posted a topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
My brother in law (Buckhorn) sent me this pictures from a friend of his that is in Iraq right now. I dont know where or when these were taken, however it is too bad that one of them got killed. I imagine he had his neck broken. Twoguns -
Here are some more pics that I found on MM of the same bulls i believe. It says they are in Colorado, but there is no picture that shows all of those bulls together. here is a link. http://www.monstermuleys.com/photos/PhotosID1/1957.html TwoGuns

Josh, makes perfect sense to me......you did say she worked at Wally world. It takes certain "qualifications" to work there I think. darren

I dont disagree that a fast bow is less forgiving, and they do not leave a lot of room for error. However, at the same time they create less guesswork and eliminate a lot of the yardage guessing game. You may not believe it, but his Outback shoots incredibly flat. As long as his target is within 45 yrds or so, his first pin is a killig pin. Then he doesnt have a 50 yard pin, only 60, 75, and 90 yrd pins. The reason I think less pins is better, is simply because so many times when you are hunting, you dont have time to count down your pins, since most animals dont stand still long enough.... Anyway, I do think that if you shoot a slower bow, like I do, you might need more pins. I shoot an Mathews Ovation, that is 44" ata, with a 31" draw length, and it is a very sweet, smooth shooter. As far as lightning fast bows leaving no margin for error, my buddy works up at Camp Navajo and shoots his bow everyday all summer long which helps. He is an avid archer, and has killed somewhere around 32 deer, and 14 elk with his bow. He also drilled an Antelope buck at 104 yrds a few years ago. The guy really knows his stuff and is very convinced that the new faster bows make him a better hunter. He just bought a new XT, so we will see how it shoots... Good topic. Twoguns

I think you should aim to have fewer pins, and todays lightning fast bows allow you to do so. My buddy shoots an Outback that is pretty fast, and is able to have one pin set exactly at 40 yards that is good 0-40, and is only 3 inches low at 50 yards. With that set up, you could easily shoot only 4 pins. I think it helps take the guess work out. The key is a real flat trajectory and quick arrow. The sights that we use work perfect for this set up. They are made by HHA, with pre-set yardage pins based upon the speed you shoot. It is the model T-250. I would love to hear if anyone else has been thinking along these lines with their site set up. ????? http://www.hhasports.com/Sights/TThreat.htm Twoguns

Potential new world record carp?
TwoGuns posted a topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
I don't have any details on this buck, other than I think it was taken in Utah???? Some one sent it to me via email yesterday. I am sure some of you will have heard or it, or seen it already. It is a huge buck, world record or not. twoguns -
I have shot a Mathews Ovation for the last few years, and am ready to buy a new bow this year. the ovation is used as a target bow a lot. You can look at www.mathewsinc.com for the details on it. It has a camo pattern on it. It is a great shooting bow. http://mathewsinc.com/mathews-bows-Ovation...-1354.asp#specs send me a pm if you are interested. Twoguns

The .223 is the best round for shooting at coyotes.....for one simple reason....they fit in my AR-15.

My daughter is turning 6 this spring and is very convinced she is ready to have her own youth bow. She loves to go out and shoot with me during the summer, so I am looking for any advice in getting her a bow. Is she too young? Is anyone familiar with the Mathews Genesis bow? It looks like it might be a good way to go, but I am not sure. Anybody that can give me a starting point I would appreciate it. Darren

I am currently trying to build a house, and am broke, so I am selling my truck. It is a 1998 Chevy 1/2 ton extended cab, w/3rd door, 4wd, at, pw, pdl, ps, 6" RCD lift, and 35" tires. I actually bought the truck about 8 months ago from a guy in phoenix. The guy was a total crook, and lier...I didnt make it 50 miles before the engine blew up. He had filled the motor with some sort of very thick fluid which made it sound perfect, and drive great for about 25 minutes. So, I had to have it towed home and a new factory crate motor installed. Now, it runs great and has probably 3 - 4000 miles on new motor. I have all the receipts totaling about $4,500 for the motor and all the work I had done to it. I would like to try and get $10,500 for the truck. If you, or anyone you know might be interested, send me a PM. The truck is located in Camp Verde. Thanks, Darren

good for you for taking up the bow, it is a ton of fun and very addicting. also glad you had some success right away. typical pig hunt, good shot, lots of blood and no body. they are really tough animals. twoguns

Mike, thanks for sharing your story and I appreciate your honesty and good attitude about everything. I had a stand stolen this year around Flag also, and can relate to your emotions. Maybe God was protecting you from climbing into and then falling out of your stand...like another member of this forum had happen to him this year. Everything happens for a reason. O yeah, and remember, God keeps books about those things. Darren

Not too long ago I bought a hunting video of Bob Fromme hunting all over north america with his bow. It is called PERFORMANCE BOWHUNTING WITH BOB FROMME. he shoots the shuttle t lock and speaks very highly of it in the video. he kills 4 bulls, including a 400 inch bull in AZ with john mcclendon, 2 moose, and a polar bear as well. he must have a lot of confidence in the shuttles to go after polar bears with them. When he shoots the bull on the mcclendon hunt, he hits it very low, in fact barely hits it at all, and it still did not go far. Anyway, it is a good video IMO, and must be a good broadhead. twoguns

I have shot Easton Carbon Excel 340's for the last few years as they have been some of the most affordable. This year I just recently bought a bunch of new arrows from a shop in Wisconsin. They are great arrows for the price, but the ad the guy sent me is on my work email and I wont be back at work until Monday. i will try and send it to you if I can find it on my work computer. twoguns

if i was starting fresh and had the money, i would buy the new slim line carbons like the st axis. but they are pricey.

Congradulations Josh that is an awesome buck. There are not too many people willing to work as hard as you do, so you deserve it. Best thing about it is that you can shoot another one this week! Course it will cost you twice as much as last years..... darren
