This is what the future of deer hunting looks like in the Midwest.

The rancher is in violation of a bunch of laws and court orders and has not paid grazing fees in quite a while. That being said, theres a lot of fishy stuff going on on the side of the feds too. The "critical" desert tortoise habitat that has caused the closure of the area in question was relocated to this area after being originally designated in a different area that was being ranched by a friend of Harry Reid. This guy is the last hold out still running cattle in this area. My guess is someone in Nevada has some future plans for this federal land. While its apparent the rancher is in the wrong that doesnt mean the govt is in the right.

Are the Goulds heartier than Merriams? The way these birds seem to be expanding across their environment is quite a success story. Why is that the Merriams birds in the rest of the state seem to always be struggling?

I have hunted these late archery hunts a bunch with very little success. Yet I keep trying. Finding elk usually isnt the problem its finding them where you can get to them and pull off the shot. Water always helps especially if its a dry winter.

I got one of those last year. Id like to hope its to develop and promote small game hunting in AZ.

What if some low level IT guy at AZG&F was supposed to download the results today? But instead he was so excited about hitting the Renaissance festival this weekend with the members of his LARPing club that he just blew it off and took off early for the day. Then come Monday he'll realize that hes in deep doo doo and fake a server meltdown to buy himself some more time. He'll spend the next few days updating his facebook profile and playing Minecraft while pretending to repair the server. Miraculously he'll get it back up and running midnight of April 17th.
