Gonna be my first time going after bears this year. I am WAY excited! I am planning on using my 30-06. What load would you all recommend? Would 180's be too much?

We have a fairly cheap hang-on stand by Rivers Edge. $100 bucks or under and that was like 10 years ago, haha. Never had any issues with them. Super solid and comfortable.

I actually have not shot any coues. I just started taking big game hunting seriously last winter. I have been going deer hunting for most of my life with my dad and had plenty of opportunities to shoot deer, but didn't take them, because they were smaller bucks. I decided to really start taking hunting seriously, not only because I love it, but because I would love to one day be able to be self sufficient when it comes to my meat.

Ok, I am VERY new to the world of predator hunting and trapping, so bare with me, haha. For the ones out there that sell their fur, do you have to trap the animal in order to sell the fur, or can you shoot the animal? My thought was that shooting the animal would obviously put a hole in the fur. Is that ok? What do you do with your fur after you skin your animal to get it ready and in shape to sell? Again, all of this might seem silly, but like I said, I am SUPER new to all of this. Thanks in advance. :-)

Wow!! I shot the brute x tonight over at Cabela's. I couldn't believe how quiet and FAST it was! I loved it. I still have not shot the assassin though. From what I have read and seen, the parts on the brute x are better quality.

my favorite all around rifle. Great for the kids, wife and myself. Hard to find a rifle with that much versatility without buying several guns. Yeah, that is why I went with it. I originally was interested in a .308. Great gun. Just doesn't have the flexibility in ammo that the 06 does. I also have a 30-30 marlin, which I love. Lever action of course. That is what I normally hunt deer with. I needed an elk rifle though. :-)

Remington 700 in 30-06.

I usually get them on super dupers there. I have also gotten them on white spinners. As far as bait is concerned, corn works well there. So does salmon eggs. I have not gotten to try the crayfish thing yet. I think I will though next time I am there. The crayfish are everywhere in that lake. I would imagine they would work quite well. Good fishin to ya!
