    Number of rifling grooves?

I have read the same. All of my barrels are 5R groove. But Lilja doesn't make a 5 groove barrel.

    Number of rifling grooves?

Lilja has no love for the 5R? I would go 4 groove myself. Top shooter in PRS in 2015 shot a 4 groove Hawk Hill.

WIN A MEXICO COUES DEER HUNT !!!!! Winner posted....

Sounds like I might have a chance then! Only 1 Coues tag ever, about 15 years ago. I signed it over to my older daughter but she never had an opportunity for a shot.

    Optic set ups!?

This. I just got a spotter last fall before a late season elk hunt, but have already used it a ton. 10s on a chest harness, 15s for glassing out to 2 miles, spotter for close inspections.

    Youth 7mm-08 vs .243

What about a .260? Right in between, better ballistics than either the .243 or 7-08. Most .243s are twisted for 90-100gr. max. Manageable recoil without a brake, better for deer than the .243, and enough for elk with good 140gr bullets. Maybe equal to the 7-08 150gr. Bullets. Flatter trajectory and better speed too. I can vouch that a .260 is plenty to take big mulies out to 650 yards with authority.

    28 Nosler 30 Nosler 33 Nosler

Nothing new but the name. Nice not being a belted mag, even though I have never had issues with a belted mag. Very similar ballistics to other rounds. Just a new fad to get the Nosler name out. 28 Nosler, 7 RUM, 7 Dakota, 7.21 Fire bird, 7 Allen Mag, 7 STW, etc. 30 Nosler, .300RUM, .300 NM, .300 Dakota, 7.82 Warbied etc. 33 Nosler, .338 RUM,. 338 Edge, .338 Weatherby, .338-378 Weatherby, 8.59 Titan, etc.

    Couple vortex scopes for sale

I got another Vortex Viper 6.5-20 from DouglasGunGuy last year. Good price for a good scope. Seller is good to go too.
  12. I assume from the box they are the "high" (1.00)? If they were the "mediums" (.92"), I would be all over them.

    223 factory loads??(pics pg. 3)

I load 50 V-max @ 3300 in my AR for yokes and Jacks. But I have used my 69 SMK @ 3033fps target loads on them as well, with good reaults.

Camera Land brings you Big News from Leupold

Depends on application. Most take a ring that screws into the scope bell/sunshade and then the cap and ring snap onto the adapter ring.

Camera Land brings you Big News from Leupold

If all you are looking for is good scope caps, try Aadmount or Tenebraex. All I use on my scopes. Then get a good scope to put them on.
  16. D35 rear? ARB, OX, or Eaton E-lockers? Clean looking XJ for sure.

    What ammo for quail

6Anut nailed it. Exactly what we do.
  18. What about RL22 or RL23? I know RL22 works great in my .25-06AI pushing 115s to 3400+, with other loads close to 3500, but not as accurate. RL23 is similar, and much more temp stable.

Muzzle brake and accuracy. Range with hunt w/o?

Get a good rifle mounted bipod that is adjustable from 13-27" or 11-25" like this. Makes shooting from knees or sitting much easier, quick to deploy, and really stabilizes the rifle.

Muzzle brake and accuracy. Range with hunt w/o?

Most of my rifles have a brake. Always shoot with them on.

There are places that get covered up with hunters every day, all day. But that is because they hold elk. My son-in-law shot his bull last day with 30 minutes left in the hunt on a hill that had at least 4-6 trucks around it and hunters on it every day.

There are a lot more hunts that put people in the woods than that. Archery antelope, rifle antelope, deer, Turkey, bear, Archery deer, cow elk, early Archery bull, late Archery bull.

I Hunt 7W for elk, a lot. Never for my own tag, but all of my lucky family members. For those that say if you find bulls now through May, they won't be there in December, I beg to differ. We have watched specific bulls from Mid-April to December in the exact same places. Pressure is what scatters them. Unfortunately, a lot of tags come before your hunt. But get up there and scout. You will find honey holes if you hike. There are elk scattered all across the unit, pretty much year round except the highest elevations mid-winter. Look for a blue Tacoma x-tra cab and silver 4 door JK in December. That will be us chasing bulls for my son-in-law, his buddy, and my cousin.
