Just ordered myself a new rifle

That is like saying "You have a rifle, why do you need another one?". Pure blasphemy. I have a .260 Remington and a 6.5 SLR, and planning my third 6.5 rifle now.

    2 BIG Igloo Coolers

I have 2 of these in the 150qt. flavor. An entire mule deer, or over half of an elk easily in one. Mine hold ice for 10 days on October deer or elk hunts if kept in the shade and temps stay in the 50-60s for a high.
  9. Great choice. Exactly what I have. Good luck.

    LOOKING FOR LAB PUPS

There is a 15 year old lab in desperate need of a home on here. Maybe start with that for a year or two. My lab made it to 16.
  11. Thank goodness the naked hiker picture was not taken one step earlier........more creepy than funny. They are all funny. I think the coyote is my favorite "funny" photo. I bet he was thinking, "Let's see if any deer come into the camera NOW!" The bear taking a dip in the tank is just freaking wicked awesome. And the bear stealing the target is awesome too. "No practice for you." The javelina shaking is a cool "bad hair" photo. (Thank goodness, again, the naked hiker photo was not a "bad hair day" photo).

15 yo lab needs a new home

While our pets become family, Kids come first. Rough decision to have to make. Best of luck.
  14. Take more photos. Closeups, every side, top, bottom, any wear or scratches, etc. It really helps them sell. One small far away picture is hardly telling on condition of rifle.

Background checks are a waste of time!

  16. I think this rifle just killed a whopper Coues on a DIY in Mexico. So it is a tried and true killer.

    Eurasian Collared Doves

I shot them all year long from my back patio. Nice having 600' behind the house to the back fence.
  18. All of my rings that I currently have are a minimum of 4/4 screws per ring. Some are 6/4 sets, some are 6/6 sets. Is it necessary? Not sure, especially on a heavy rifle with a brake. Better to have and not need, than need and not have. With that being said, I ran 2 screw Leupold rings for years torqued to spec and never had a scope slip, even over heavy hitters like a .300RUM.
  19. I installed a DNZ mount for a guy on a rifle and mounted his scope. Scope was a Swarovski X5i. I believe the mount was a 30mm low? The turret Bell hit the mount cross bridge, so I called the customer. I had to mill the mount just a touch in the center to get the scope to set in the rings correctly. So just be aware of that possible issue. Other than that, they are nice. But mounting length is limited depending on length of tube on your scope. A Picatinny rail and rings give you a bit more flexibility for eye relief and moving a scope forward or backwards. Especially nice if your rifle gets used by other people. I move my scopes back one notch for my daughter on her hunts, and it has never changed zero. I have also had to mill down the top of a Picatinny rail for a turret housing to clear with low rings too, so don't think it is just the DNZ mount. With certain scopes, they have bigger turret housings, so they might barely touch the base.
  20. All of my bases and rings are alloy. There is quite a difference in weight.

    Elk pose

My son-in-law has to do a mount like this but with closed mouth for his because he only had 9' ceilings.

    Or semi-sneak right turn.

    Elk pose

It is called a "hiding behind a white picket fence" pose. Very rare.....
