I have a Game Scouts and a T2A. When I get back, I can check. You can check too if you want. -
I have the same tent. Love mine. I have had mine for 3 years I think, and have used it 7 times, for a total of 42-43 days. Still looks brand new. From 70° to 6°, sun, rain, snow, 25+ mph winds.

Started butchering this morning, and found out shot placement was even better that we thought. 637 yards, right through the shoulder and spine, and caught the lungs.

Hunting is all the moments leading up to that squeeze of the trigger. this is true, but it takes away the 2nd hardest part of the hunt. the first is locating them. but if you can shoot them from where you located them, theres a lot less "hunting" involved usually. if i had a little kid, i dont think i would want them shooting far or out of one of those triclawps things. learning to get close and have the chance of busting them is part of hunting. if you can them out of a vice with a sniper rifle from 800 that aint teaching them much except how to pull a trigger Teaching the kids and PRACTICING with them at long range makes the kids a better hunter. Knowing your rifle and load, and having confidence in them, is priceless. Know when to shoot, and when NOT to shoot is a learning process too. Knowing the difference is something everyone should know, and unfortunately, is not always the case. I don't have a vice or Triclawps. Prone with a good solid rear rest is my preferred method for shooting longer ranges. Along with lots of practice on proper shooting form. Getting your kids out hunting is life changing. For both the parent and the child. Respecting our wildlife, natural resources, the outdoors, and the traditions of the sport will always be one of my most cherished things I can pass down to my kids, and in the future, grandkids.

I wonder if you could order that with a 26" 1:10" Proof barrel? That would be cool.

Taylor just made a spectacular 637 yard shot on a muley. Thread to follow in a day or two...

Depends on the situation. Bench or prone? Harris 6-9" Hunting prone? Harris 6-9" or 9-12" Normal still hunting or spot & stalk? Harris 13-27". All swivelling models for sure.

I have to agree with this in some ways. While I did not let Taylor practice with it, she used my .300RUM w. brake when she was 11 for her first bull elk too. Lots of time behind a .223 & .25-06AI for practice.

180gr Sierra SBK/300WM/R22
lancetkenyon replied to Siwash's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
180 SGK? Which is a SPBT. Hodgdon book doesn't have a listkng for the 180 SGK, but it does for the 175 SMK, which uses the same jacket I believe. So it should put you in the ballpark. just start low. IMR4831 69.5-75.5C H4831 72.0-76.5 My old Alliant book shows max loads only for RL22 @ 76.9 My Lyman book shows: H4831 70.0-77.0 RL22 70.5-77.0 -
13A is done. 13B is ongoing.

12AW is not a small area, but there are lot of hunters in there. Also, certain areas hold more deer than others, and a lot of those spots are common knowledge. Unfortunately, common knowledge, common sense and common courtesy don't seem to go hand in hand any longer.

What does your "long range" hunting rifle way?
lancetkenyon replied to AZHUNTER05's topic in Long Range Shooting
http://www.coueswhitetail.com/forums/topic/69698-what-does-your-rifle-weigh/?do=findComment&comment=691269 I have shot all of these (except the .22LR) to 1371 minimum on steel. I would not shoot all of them to 1000 on game however. -
Don't overlook the 6.5 Creedmoor or .260 Rem. It will be enough for the elk hunts he will grow into, and any of the AZ deer will easily fall to a 130-140 bullet if put in the right spot. Recoil won't be much more, but bullet weight is a big plus when you jump to .264 vs. .243. A .257 of some sort might fit the bill well also. I had a .250 Ackley for years for my girls. It took a few deer, javelina, and a cow elk with authority. I used the 100-115gr. bullets with great results.

Where is the Peoria location??? Oh boy....I am going to gain 10# now....

We have eaten at The Angry Crab in Goodyear twice now. Great boils. Snow crab, shrimp, mussles, crawfish, potatoes, corn, sausage. 5 of us devoured 7# of food. Try the "trifecta" seasoning.

I believe the 12AE Muzzy hunt ended last Thursday. Any reports? Weather/temps? Deer movement? Pre-rut activity?

I am 5'7", 155#. The medium fits fine with a couple light layers. Thermal, T-shirt, sweatshirt or vest, then jacket. I bought the large to wear for the times I need more layers. I can wear the medium jacket under the large...and toasty warm into the single digits.
