Only two? My "lightweight" mountain rifle is 8lbs 13oz. Everything else is between 9.5-11lbs, except for my dedicated LR elk rifle at 15.5lbs. I would rather carry an extra 1-2# and have a stable platform to shoot from. Even the 300-500 yard shots are much easier with a 9.5# rifle.

Light rifles are harder to shoot accurately just because of shooter input. It takes a lot of shooting to get comfortable with them. To me, a longer range rifle should be 9-10+ pounds. 7 pound rifles are great to carry in the mountains, and work well for shots out to 500-600 or so.

Absolutely have chances at late rifle bull tags in numerous units. My cousin drew 4 years in a row (all bull), and son-in-law drew 3 years in a row (all bull). Taylor drew 4 years in a row too. Bull/bull/bull/cow.

Prayers sent Kev.

Yeah, You better call Monday. SS# is a requirement for applicants. Must be your first time applying him, otherwise should have had a history for AZGFD.

Teamwork and spotting/guiding a shooter in on a buck
lancetkenyon replied to LonePineOutdoors_AZ's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
No radios here either. Hand signals, landmarks, etc. Right, left, slow down, still there, gone, game is up, etc. -
Using salt and cameras to locate a specific buck
lancetkenyon replied to LonePineOutdoors_AZ's topic in Coues Biology
Salt attracts game. All kinds too. -

If I am not mistaken, any use of radios disqualifies game from record books. B&C and P&Y anyway. -
18BPs is far from a guaranteed draw in almost every unit. What about WY?

Out of the four you quoted, US Optics, hands down, will be the highest quality. -
Great 3 point! Looks 112-115" to me. Stud buck for sure, beautiful, and looks very symmetrical.

Smoking deal.

It works. I have a full set of Weatherguard on my work truck. Cross box and side rail boxes. I work on a LOT of mountaintop sites, with miles and miles of dirt roads. I have never noticed dust on my tools. Even when driving through that moon powder dust for miles.

Weatherguard hands down
