Kodiak Flex Bow tent and Mr buddy heater question.
lancetkenyon replied to AZHUNTER05's topic in The Campfire
I have run an OLD Coleman catalytic heater for years. Crack a couple windows, and it does enough to knock the chill off. Looking at the weather reports, I bought a Mr. Buddy heater for the future. Good to hear they keep a tent warm. Expected temps are low single digits in a week or three up north. Does a regular hose for a 20# that fits in a lantern work for the Mr. Buddy? Guess I better verify. -
I got the photos too.....😎 Adam is a stud. Good thing that 28 shoots so well....

High BC, Fast Twist .257...

I can say the 121 Hammers fly REALLY accurately, but BCs seem WAY inflated. Like 6-8" low at 545, 12-14" low at 741, 18+" low at 921. I couldn't even estimate how low the 921 yard drop was. Pretty unexpected. 545 group was very good however. Like 1.5". 721 was about 2". The vapor trail off the Hammers is a sight to see. Looks like a dust trail! I have a couple good videos of them, but here is a still frame of one. -
Hey dipshit...that is a moose, not a doe.

Biggest draw tag buck killed this year?

303" killed this year too. Not a "draw tag buck" though. -

If he wants to beat that....he needs to switch to mulies! -
I tested an Athlon Midas. Did not track, or even resemble coming close to returning to zero. Sent it back and got a brand new replacement. Did the exact same thing. I sent it back to the supplier and told him to never, EVER order another one for sale. POS. I have an Athlon Ares BTR, and it sits atop a loaned rifle. I have only shot maybe 20 rounds under it. It is OK. The suggestion of an SWFA 3-15×42 is a great one. I have two still. Had the 5-20×50 HD for years with zero problems, and LOTS of shooting. My suggestion, look at used higher end scopes. You can find $1k scopes used for $600 all the time.

In my opinion, that was a good pass on those bucks. Stay warm buddy.

The rifles that are going to the Bab in a couple weeks are ready. All-Copper loads worked up to save the Condors....and slay the mulies. All photos are sideways. About 15 years ago, I took a nasty fall over a wet rotten log. Landed right on the scope. I didn't even check it. Just switched to my main back up. Still had #3 just in case. Then, my cousin dropped his rifle and broke the top turret off. He carried my back up #2. We both killed later in the hunt. -
Good prices. Great jackets.

See? People think I m crazy for taking 3 guns on a hunt. I would rather have and not need, than need and not have. -

Kind of a "last minute, throw the stuff in the truck" trip. -

Went out today for one last LR verification. I think Taylor is ready. She smoked a squirrel @ 741 yards on a cold bore shot with her 6.5SLR, on video. Shot the rifle from 545 to 910. All very good. Also shot the 25SST and 6.5SS. Out to 1250. AZGFD came out to check up on us. Super nice officer. Said they heard the shooting, and thought, "Either someone is a REALLY bad shot shooting at deer, or someone is shooting a lot of deer." I explained we were tuning up on jackrabbits and squirrels at long range getting ready for deer season. Checked our licenses, asked how the shooting was going, and left with a smile after watching us for a bit. Said they felt sorry for any deer that comes within 1/2 mile of us. I almost corrected the officer to "3/4 mile".... -

Went out for one last long range verification on the rifles today. The 131 Blackjack @ 3190 (I went with a slightly lighter load than the 3250 I was shooting before to save some brass life) are freaking insane. Accuracy is second to none. And they seem like they get there quick and in a hurry. Drops are miniscule. Shot them @ 545, 741, 910, 1181, 1250 today. Shooting conditions: 55-80°F 27.19-27.25 barometric pressure 5-9° up look angle Yargage=Drop (in inces) @ Elevation Dial 545=36" @ 1.9MIL 741=86" @ 3.2MIL 910=149" @ 4.6MIL 1181=300" @ 7.1MIL 1250=351" @ 7.8MIL -

There is some weird horizontal line in front of your "6". Not sure what it means.... But 6° is freaking cold!

Yes, all AZ, and several more that are Euro/skull caps elsewhere as well.

Hope you degreased your firing pin! Wait....that sounds kind of weird on a trip with two guys headed to the frozen north....especially after seeing the picture of you cuddling on the plane...

These should fit more like a 32". I read a bunch of reviews that said they run small. I wear a 30" waist, and ordered a 32", and they fit like all my other 30" Kuiu pants. Awesome pant though. If they were a 32", I would take them in a heartbeat.
