Jeez. Then I see the photos in the other thread.

Post the photos or drop the subject and move on. The grammar alone makes me suspect on the validity of this thread. Although the last post seems to be more coherently written.

Keep the 6.5-270AI or get the .280AI
lancetkenyon replied to Zeke-BE's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Totally depends on what other chamberings you have. The 6.5CM covers 6.5mm, but lacks about 300fps compared to the 6.5-.270AI. A .280AI would step you up in bullet weight availability. But if you already have a 7RM, really no use. -
Yep. Temp, pressure and/or altitude, humidity, look angle, latitude and direction of shot for coriolis, wind speed/direction, etc.

Two years ago, we had an accidental discharge that was a close call on an elk hunt. I am always extremely safe with firearms, but one second of distraction can end up tragically. Luckily, the discharge did not happen 30nsecond earlier, or I would not be here. Also had a negligent discharge when I was a teen that almost cost me my life. And did cost the cousin of one of my best friends an butt kicking.

What size tires do they fit? 3/4 ton & medium truck?

Taylor and I will be headed up next week for a little photo hunting, varmint hunting, and squirrels if we can find any. Luckily....we have a cabin.

Shooter has temperature corrections for both powder sensitivity and air density. As long as YOU input the info correctly.

I have loaded for a straight 6.5x55 Swede and a 6.5-.284 Norma. With 140s, I got 2900 from the Swede. And 3000 from the 6.5-.284 Norma. I would think the 6.5x55AI would match the 6.5-.284 Norma. But you will have 100 or more rounds down the pipe just in fire forming loads. What I have been doing with fire forming loads is same as regular load development. Do a load development and get a good shooting fire forming load, and once I get 25 or so fired cases, start on that load development too. Usually, out of 100, I have 50 or so cases left to fire form, but I load them up and use them for varmint hunting. And have 50 or so fired cases that are full power loads of twice fired brass for hunting. That way, you don't just shoot them to shoot them. -
With approximately 85 different rifle powders and burn rates, from Hodgdon Lil' Gun to VV20N29, if you can't find the perfect powder in there, you are doing something wrong. Personally, I would worry about consistency of mixing powders, unless you did it one cartridge at a time to.make sure you got exactly the same amount of each in the case over and over. In other words, not worth the time and effort for me. I doubt you could ever tell the difference between two different powder blends on the burn chart.

Vortex is really good with CS. I would call them on Monday or email them, and dollars to donuts they ship you one out free of charge.

This is my favorite CA the OP owns. In my opinion, it is the perfect factory setup for a deer/elk mountain rifle. Light, stiff, accurate, and awesome chambering. -
LRI has made some awesome wooden stocks. But not like presentation grade. More like tactical shaped wood.

24B has cats...plenty of them. Shoot, 42 has a bunch of cats too.

We did a couple night calling sets. Freaking spooky. Especially how quiet cats are. Had a bobcat within 20' of me and never knew it until my brother literally screamed like a girl. Which almost caused me to crap myself. That was the last night set we made.

I had three guys ask for help in 7E, and five guys in 7W. I got photos from most of them with some decent bulls. Not my place to post them here, but they got it done.
