They are set up for a Weaver mount as well as Picatinny rail. Weaver fits in Picatinny, but Picatinney crossbar will not fit in Weaver bases. No issues. Push them forward and tight against the front of the groove. Tighten them down to spec and run them.

Boy am I glad this is MOA. I really don't need the temptation right now.

Do you reload? If so, maybe ask for 10 or so of a bunch of different t types of bullets to try.

Great thread in a time where there are few.

Congrats! Good hunt. If you have 4 days prior, a couple weekends before, and the entire hunt, you should be able to put a good buck on the ground. Saying you will get a 200" buck might be a bit misleading. Those caliber of deer, even on the Kaibab, are not that common. They are there, but not behind every tree. I would think a 180"-190" is doable if you are selective and hunt hard. And you could very well find a 200+" buck. Be prepared for every condition. Could be 50s and sunny, or 0° and snow (pray for this weather). Could rain too. Unless there is a brutal snow weeks prior to the hunt, bucks will still be both high and low. Also, rut might not be in full swing yet. It wasn't 2 years ago. We saw plenty of solo bucks. But they should be starting to check for hot does. Be prepared for shots between 20 to 800 yards. Make sure you have excellent glass and tripods. Practice, practice, practice. If you get a few weekends, learn the roads! Look for deer, but don't worry if you don't see big bucks. If it is windy, deer will stay in the thick stuff. When it quits....they will come out like rats on a sinking ship. Watch precipitation. If it is dry, water will still be a viable attraction to the deer. Shoot all coyotes you see. And buy a lion tag too. Hunt hard, and most of all, have fun!

7E, 7W, or 7 (both sides)? Shoot me a text, and I can let you know where we see deer frequently. If you get a map, we can go over it too.

That was my post on here.

Chocolate colored bear
lancetkenyon replied to Mr. Natural's topic in Black Bear or Grizzly Bear hunts
And again... That's a big chocolate colored black bear. -
I am going to hound you until you get this stuff correct...You will need to put it in a truck to get it to where you want to go. It wouldn't be advisable to put in a normal sedan because of the weight. (No kidding. How about the size? Who is going to attempt to put a 700# safe in the trunk of a car?)

Will bears return when spooked at water?
lancetkenyon replied to leilacl's topic in Black Bear or Grizzly Bear hunts
Capitalization, punctuation, grammar, and a modicum of common sense. Try it, for the love of Pete. Bears are very smart and tough. They know what's a threat or not. Bears hunt and eat fish (from a trick tank???) so they will surely be back. -
SFP issues. Meaning their holdovers and holdoffs are not accurate except @ 1000 yards and max magnification. Should still hold true MOA clicks though, and tracking.....and their reputation is not stellar in this area. Yet another reason I run all FFP scopes. Accurate and consistent at 100, 347, 611 & 1000. Correct at 3x, 5x, 7.2x, 14.7x, 21.1x, or 25x. No subtension issues.
-
Betting you need to adjust your zero stop. No reason with a 20MOA base, you should not be able to zero the scope.

Since you don't have time I will post some of what they claim. Please excuse any typos. From Leupold: "Long-range rifle scopes should be optimized to shoot at long range...not to perform perfect box drills at 100 yards." "Most other manufacturers choose to make their reticles subtend perfectly at 100 yards because most shooters test the accuracy of their reticles at that distance. This may result in perfect 100-yard box drills, but it creates a massive 7% error at 1000 yards." An MOA is 1.049" @ 100 yards. Meaning at 1000, it is 10.49". Most people think MOA is 1" @ 100, and 10" @ 1000. Meaning they are off by 1/2" @ 1000. I doubt most people can hold the difference of .5" @ 1000. And 99.999% don't have a rifle that can shoot better than 1/2" @ 1000. SFP scopes can definitely incur errors @ 1000 if they are not calibrated exactly, or if you are off max magnification by even .5x and are holding for elevation or windage. 7% @ 1000 yards is.....70 yards.... meaning a 930 to 1070 yard dial. I think even a Tasco has more accurate tracking than that.

Only twice. Out of 3 scopes. My Vari-X III 6.5-20×50 tracked right. But... I did not dial it nearly as much as I do now.

Post a photo or a link. I would love to read it.

I bet it just showed up, or someone was rejected and he got the rejected tag.

I used my small flatbed trailer. Lay it on the back. Easy (relatively w. 2 people) to stand up once you are to your destination. Then use a furniture dolly. Once you get it IN the house, if you have hardwood floors.....lay a blanket down, and drag it to the final resting place. It works.
-
Give it up.....you didn't draw.....just like me.

Great dogs. I have two GSP/Walker mixes. High energy, great hunters, great family dogs. I got the runt and the brute of the litter. Like Danny Devito and Arnold Schwarzenegger. One is 60#, the other is 92#. The 60# has little man syndrome.
