    Nosler Accubond Long Range

I guess the NBTs could be a 150gr., and you could easily push them to 3200fps with a charge weight of 68.5gr. of IMR4350, which is 1.5 grains under listed starting charge weight. That would make me feel better. But it still does not clear up the 59.9gr. for the bullet with no pan.

    Nosler Accubond Long Range

I just went and weighed 8 of my old "165gr." NBTs, and 6 of the 8 were 165.0, and two were 165.1gr. Again, Nosler does not make a 160gr. NBT. So please, please check your scale calibration. How did you zero your scale to weigh with the pan for the powder at 68.5, and with no pan for the bullet at 159.9? Please don't think I am being negative, I just don't want to read about someone who blew their face off while shooting a rifle and it exploded. I know, worst case scenario, but better to err on the safe side.

With a 24" barrel and getting 3200fps with a "160"gr. bullet, your scale has got to be off 5 grains. And I bet that charge weight is 5 grains over what it reads too, more like 73.5 grains. Which, if that is the case, is a very dangerous situation. Please verify with another known bullet to verify accuracy, and calibrate as needed. IMR4350 and a 165gr. NBT with a charge weight of 73.3gr. from a 24" barrel should be right around 3150fps, which is a MAX load according to IMR/Hodgdon website. My Nosler book shows (all MAX loads) w. 24" barrel: H4350, 165 NBT, 73.0gr. @ 3170 IMR4831, 165 NBT, 74.0gr. @ 3260 IMR4350, 165 NBT, 72.0gr. @ 3260

My bobcat is all finished up!

I think cats are the hardest animals to get looking right, and they NAILED IT!!! One of the coolest, and most realistic looking cats I have ever seen. Awesome job to the hunter and the taxidermist.

Since it is an extruded powder, it could also be IMR7828, IMR4831, H4350, RL22 (but RL22 might be a touch skinnier granules). My bet if the loads are older, with that charge weight, it could be IMR4350 or H4350. If you have shot them, what is the velocity you are getting? That could help narrow it down a bit with listed charge weights in reloading data. And the barrel length of the rifle (probably 26"?). As for bullet, Nosler only makes the .30 cal Ballistic Tip in 125, 150, 165, 168 & 180 grains. I have no idea why that bullet would only weigh 160 grains. http://www.nosler.com/ballistic-tip-bullet/ Here is the thing....load data from IMR puts the throw weight of the slower powders starting around 70 grains for IMR4831, and 72 grains for 7828. 4350 starts at 68.0 with a velocity of 2875 from a 24" barrel. H4350 has a listed starting load of 66 grains with a velocity of 2910 from a 24" barrel. 68.5 grains puts the charge weight on the low end for IMR4350, and in the middles for H4350. But lower than suggested starting loads for the slower powders like 4831 & 7828. http://www.hodgdonreloading.com/data/rifle

As for the title of the thread......my answer is "impeachment".
  10. I thought this was sold. I was talking to the potential buyer, and I am shocked it is not gone. Good luck with whatever direction you go with it.

    Shed Antlerfest 2015!! May 22-24

Looks like I am out. I had a friend who was hit by an SUV as a pedestrian and killed last week, and a fundraiser for his wife and unborn child is scheduled for Saturday. This takes precedence over fun time. Please, take lots of photos for those of us who cannot attend this year.

    Good Guy Seller List

To ease all of your minds, Amanda has been made aware of these threads via email, and has responded. If it helps ONE person feel better about sending some unknown member money for an item, it has served its purpose. Sending someone $1K that you have never met can be a little uneasy. Don't like the list? Don't post up. It is that simple.

    need advice

    .224" TMKs only come in 69 & 77gr. Too heavy for your 1 in 14" twist. They require a 1 in 9-10" for the 69, and 1 in 7-8" for the 77gr.

    Good Guy Buyer List

I think it just highlights the exceptional ones. The known good guys for people who might not know this group, or be new here. I have had one bad experience from another member. But I guarantee he won't be getting on this list, because I saw other issues with him on this forum after my dealing with him. I have had people specifically ask me about other members, and if they had a list to look into for their own peace of mind, it might make sending someone unknown to you money with more confidence. We all know there are a lot of sales transactions through this site, and some of them for big money/big items changing hands through the internet/shipping companies, and not always able to meet face-to-face. Nice to know if you are dealing with someone who is reputable by other's transactions with them.

    water line leak HELP NEEDED

I agree with find the wet/soft spot and start digging. Also, you should have a fairly straight path from your shutoff at the street to where it enters the house, usually at the front hose bib. But not always, depending on your house. Mine actually goes around and comes in at the rear of the house. Not normal though. Where are you located?
