Freaking hilarious.

Since you did not state a cost cap, or intended usage other than a scope on a classic rifle: I will assume a gloss scope (as matte was not available back in the day) and fairly inexpensive. Weaver K6 Classic, Classic V Leupold VX-1, or VX-2 Bushnell Elite

Awesome foundation. And they do a ton for the youth too.

Bump. This will go out on other sites if it does not sell quick enough.

If it was dropped in the city, good luck getting it back. Too many people who would just pick it up and take it. I hope he did not have a lot of high end stuff in it. Watch Craig's List.

New Year, New Snow, Two Bucks
lancetkenyon replied to CouesPursuit's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
Awesome report! Congrats. Cool to see the text screens too. -
Not in my case. I have not missed a deer application for 20+ years, and have never been rejected. And I had the loyalty point last year when I drew my tag.

260-340 depending on weather, genetics, forage, predation, stress, etc. I agree with the "dead" and "dinner" comments though.

My deer loyalty BP dropped off.

Father/daughter trips are on par..... Great buck, and the ONLY feeling better than getting your Dad a buck, is getting your KID an animal.

I am at 23 points this year. 18 is not terrible. I met a lady and a youth that drew the tag I was after last year with 5 & 2 points respectively. Stranger things have happened.

lancetkenyon replied to sherman's topic in Classified Ads
ADL=no floor plate (no bottom metal, smooth wood bottom) BDL=drop away floor plate (bottom metal, opening at bottom of stock) SA=Short action (.223, .22-250, .243, .260, .308, etc.) LA=Long action (.25-06, .270, .280, .30-06, 7mm RM, .300 WM, etc.) -
Samsung Galaxy S5 for most of my stuff. Easy to shoot photos, then upload them directly to Photobucket from the phone. For my scouting photos, I use a Nikon 5200 SLR. It takes amazing photos, but HUGE files. I figure it is easy and quick to take photos to accompany an ad, a picture is worth 1000 words. Or so I'm told.

Base has a booger on the windage screw. Rings are torqued to spec with no damage to Torx screws. Nick on elevation cap Nick on windage cap Rear cap Front cap Front objective glass (guess I need to remove the sun shade and clean the dust off) Rear eye piece glass

Looking at the mag ring, I would say it is the Viper (non-HS). That is a decent price for the scope, they are like $500+ new.

Beautiful buck! I love that grey color, and nice contrasting rack.

I would love to send some downrange out of a .300RUM at about 3300fps too. I would assume these are a VLD type bullet design to get that BC? Long ogive, small meplat, long boat tail? Are they going to be for hunting (softer copper), or target?

You should make a hook with a long handle for trigger pull. I love seeing kids getting into the sport.

I find a lot of stuff in there. Good score on the tent.

Another MAJOR piece of the puzzle fell into place last night. My long awaited scope arrived. I had been debating between two scopes, and availability and price won out for the brand newly released (as of late December) Steiner T5Xi 5-25x56. So of course I could not wait for another month or so until my rifle is built. I slapped it on my AR last night and took it for a drive today. There are a lot of cool features in this scope. One cool feature is knowing what rotation you are on when dialing. The elevation knob has windows that show what MIL you are on, and when you cross the 12MIL mark (one full revolution), the numbers change in the windows to reflect it. Here is 11MILs just before crossing over a full rotation. Here is crossing one full revolution and hitting 12MILS. Here is the SCR reticle at 25X. It also has 11 different illumination settings, from night vision use to full daylight use. I checked again today at the range, and 11 is still visible in full sunlight, but not nearly what it looks like in these photos. #6 illumination #11 setting Once everything was set up, it is easily visible the check parallax, magnification, elevation, illumination setting, and even the level while staying behind the gun. The scope is a beast though. Except for the flier (low right) which was definitely me, not a bad 8 shot group at 200 yards. My first impressions are pretty good. Definitely clearer than my Leupold VX-III 6.5-20x50 and SWFA 5-20x50. The 25X sure makes seeing .224" holes at 200 yards easy. I love the FFP feature. Illumination might be useful during low light shooting. Clicks are crisp and power ring is not too tight. Parallax is quick. Eye relief is great too.

Awesome!!! Seven more years and she will have an elk in the crosshairs.

257 Weatherby - 115gr VLD load data?
lancetkenyon replied to Hoss50's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
Check www.reloadersnest.com for loads. I think RL22 would be great in a .257 Weatherby. I use it in my .25-06 Ackley and my .300RUM with fantastic results in both accuracy and velocity. I load 115 Berger VLDS over 58gr. in my .25-06 Ackley at 3400+fps.
