What do you guys think is the best long range scope under $2k?

Something used that was originally in the $2700-3000 range.  Seriously.

    I have a Kahles K318i that I got for $2k used.

I have seen some S&B PMII 5-25x56 DTs for around $2000-$2400 on rare occasions.

Maybe a NF NX8 new.  Either the 2.5-20x50 or the 4-32x50.

Crazy low miles and bulletproofed for 30k? Seems like a dang fair price especially compared to 100k for the new over priced trucks.

Does it have the coolant bypass filter also?

Just the oil filter relocation kit.  It was completely stock except that, until I had it rebuilt this year.

  3. I asked my son-in-law who is a Ford mechanic what I should ask.  He told me about tons of trucks that needed MAJOR repairs, both body and mechanical, that were currently selling for at or near this price, for far less truck with far more miles.

Heck, we sold our old work fleet of beat to crap Dodges with twice the miles, body damage, blown transmissions, etc. for $25k each.

  4. I am selling the "Hunting Limo".  I am the original owner since new.  Bought in 2006, first 2007 F250 sold in AZ.

2007 Ford F250 Super Duty Crew Cab Powerstroke 6.0 Diesel "Lariat Outlaw Edition" (very rare) short bed

    136,006 miles

    Maintained per Ford schedule

PS, PW, PDL, dual power seats, AM/FM/CD, red/black leather seats (bucket fronts, bench rear)

6" front Fabtech springs/links, 4.5" Fabtech rear leaves, Bilstein shocks (3k on new shocks), new drag link, newer upgraded ball joints (8K?), new tie rod ends

All 8 new injectors at 111K by Rodeo Ford

Fresh "Bulletproof" rebuild at 132K by Rodeo Ford

    Oil filter relocation kit

    New 37-12.50R17 Goodyear MTR/K w. 4k miles

    Runs great

Full size 37" BFG MT KM spare underneath about 3 years old, 20K miles on it when replaced with current new tires

    Tags good until June 2023

Has a few small dents.  And the tailgate has a decent dent.   Paint on the hood is a bit faded after 16 years.  Missing a rear wheel cap, and a small dent in the bumper from when my older daughter backed into a light pole and had no clue I was watching her....

Never in an accident.  The other cars are too scared to hit it.  It is like Moses parting the Red Sea in traffic.

Passenger seat has a seam that has torn.  Drivers seat has a small tear on the side bolster.

    Non-smoker

Hauls elk, deer, pronghorn, javelina, doves, ducks, quail, bobcat, coyotes, etc.

It is like a magnet to big game.  They come to see how badass it is, I swear!  It WILL make you a more successful hunter.

It has the hidden "other" magnet in it too.  So, a great truck for the younger crowd.

    $30,000

  5. For colder weather, I definitely like the Yukon.  I wear one of my sets for work when it is cold and windy.  I have worn them as outer layers when hunting in the snow a bunch.  Nice to keep your butt dry when glassing in the snow or dewy ground.  Waterproof and windproof.  I have crashed through a lot of thick stuff, and they have shrugged off all tears and snags.

The Chugach are definitely lighter.  More like just a shell.  But they are definitley rain gear too.  I have always stayed completely dry except when wind blows it down the collar.  They do have a hood, I just sometimes don't wear it when I have a cowboy hat on.

Depending on WHERE and WHEN your tag is should determine what set you get.  If you have a Unit 22S early archery type tag, I would go Chugach.  If you have a Unit 1 early archery, the Yukon makes more sense.  If you want to use it on mid to late season too, the Yukon is definitely the way to go.

  6. My hat is off to Hornady's advertising devision.  They can really sell.  And, they R&D devision is second to none the last 10-15 years.  Nosler has come out with a few firebreathers, but Remington and Winchester have been sitting on their hands.  Heck, even Weatherby and Sig have released a couple new cases.

But, that article is nothing but hype and misleading information.

The case drawing is showing it to be a long action cartridge.  Just a couple months ago, it was said it should fit in an XM or LA.  3.4"+ is definitely LA length only.

Claims that the 7 PRC will outrun a 7RM.  Then claims it is a ballistic twin to the 7SAUM.  (The 7SAUM is a ballistic twin to the .280AI.  Which is outrun by the 7RM).  Claims the oldwives tail of the dreaded "belted mag" 7RM not being able to be reloaded but a few times (I have 11 and 12 firings on my R-P 7RM brass).  Claims the 7PRC will feed better than the 7SAUM because the case has a "lower 30° shoulder angle" (so does the 7SAUM?).

I think this cartridge will take off, with as popular as the 7SAUM and .280AI are, especially if Hornady can get Lapua on board to make brass.  ADG already makes 7SAUM brass, and also 6.5PRC amd .300PRC brass, so no change if they make 7 PRC brass too.  Peterson makes 6.5 & .300PRC brass already, so I am sure they will jump on 7PRC brass also.  I still feel Hornady brass is very lacking, so jist getting factory ammo (even if it is Hornady) will be advantageous to a lot of guys wanting a new flavor of medium capacity 7mm.

If you are a handloader already, there is a world of medium 7mm that are already available, even a lot with proper headstamped brass.

I look forward to seeing how it performs.

  7. My first, and ONLY Coues deer.  I am a muley hunter.  Applied for the wrong number and drew a Coues tag back a long time ago.  2001 or 2002 I think.

Being a Mule deer hunter, I had no clue what a Coues was supposed to look like.  I saw this buck for 5 days and passed on him hoping for something big.  On my last day to hunt, he was the biggest I had seen, so I hiked out and popped him.  I was quite disappointed at how small he was.

If I had only known then what I know now....and if I would have had the money to get a shoulder mount.....

  9. Do an all-day trip.  Half day trips are not worth it.

We booked a smaller private boat, like a 35' I think, and it was amazing.  Scored a couple blue Marlin, a 188 and 390#.  Not toads, but plenty big for me and an 11-year-old daughter to fight for an hour each.  Plus, the captain called a local restaurant from the boat, and they met us at the dock, and bought the fish.  The captain split it with us, and that paid for half our day!

I’m not sure how they can get away with charging for app processing fees when they only process the actual winners and the others they just deposit the funds.

"App" stands for "Application".  You have to APPLY for this draw, just like the other draws.

  11. I use Discount exclusively.  At my local store by my house, 4 different employees know me by name.  When my wife had to take her 4Runner down, they greeted her as "Mrs. Lance" at the door just by seeing the vehicle drive in.

I have about 20-25 vehicles and 11 trailers on my profile.  Will have 9 new ones going on there this year too, as we just upgraded our fleet at work.
