Ford put all their eggs in one basket with the 6.0, and that didn't work out so well but the 7.3 option ended in 2003 here but was still be produced down under for 2004, maybe later. I have 278K on mine. You can thank the guberment for the demise of the 7.3. The big engine couldn't meet tightening emissions guidelines so Navistar trimmed off about 80 cubic inches a few injector changes and gave you the 6.0. Ironic thing is, you get better mileage with the 7.3. My 6.0 never got better than 16.5mpg on the Hiway. But at 290K miles and a tough life, were still plowing along.

Bump for a good guy. Tripod a little out of my budget

Tule has been fenced to exclude cattle (mainly burros) for 20 years. It's BLM land, not Game and Fish. Cool spot to visit once you get past China Dam. Any area around pleasant without a fence gets blown out by the burros. You can still get into Tule, has an access gate for you and the critters. Sorry to OP for derail but wanted to state the facts... Facts? No, AZGFD has closed the road and gated it at the homestead and it is locked. In the last 15 years I have never seen it unlocked. Of course it's BLM, duh. The road used to take you past the springs and to the road to Tiptop. There is no 'critter' gate and there's a 4'x6' azgfd sign saying those are designated riparian lands same as the drainage near Yellow Jacket. And no, there are no gates for people or their critters. If there were a critter gate, how is the fence going to keep out burros and cattle? Those are the facts.image025.jpg Sheesh Tim, wasn't trying to start a fight.I guess my memory about the critter gate was confused with another area. Clearly you've spent more time in there and know the facts better than I do. I'll go back to my corner now that I've been properly schooled. Sorry guy, I'm the schooled one.Wish there was a gate for us to get our animals to the springs and on up the mountain. It's like this new fence near Yellow Jacket, AZGFD puts in a gate for them selves and no human or animal gates for us, we're just screwed out of more and more 'public land' and I don't see the government even asking for any of us little peoples comments. Pretty sure they dredge that pool at the campsite every few years. Hopefully that's all they're gearing up to do.

My 96 with a 460 got 12 mpg. Friends with this diesel truck got 15 or better

Yes, they don't make a truck anything like that any more. Already a classic workhorse.

No, Tule is north of Lake Pleasant. But Game and Fish has closed it just like this drainage just ne of yellow jacket.
-
Not to hijack a meaningful thread, but seriously? Yes. I forget the name of the drainage but it was now off limits. Ever been to Tule Springs? Same deal

Welcome aboard, join the conversation.

The desert has ferrets. I've seen the banded variety at Lake Pleasant. Once saw a large white weazle up at Robbers Roost Tank, probably 6000' there?

lol can't tell you how many times people have hit my 12' wide gate posts. GF is the worst, thought I would not notice the bent posts or broken truck mirror.

. As I recall, both were dicks.

I have a wrought iron with cedar slats RV gate for sale. Installing is no problamo, so long as you're not in Yuma or something.
-
I built RV gates for decades. You're going to want it a little wider if possible. Price will depend on style and single/double, swinging vs rolling.

Not surprising, unfortunately. Me and that Quigly guy recently tried to ride from Yellow Jacket Spring to Black Butte only to come upon a new fence and AZGFD sign saying it was now a designated riparian sanctuary.

Picked up a raft recently and reread all the rafting regs. Today I picked up an electric trolling motor. If I'm reading the regs correctly, now I need it registered? Anybody run into this quandary or must I molest the AZGFD folks?

I've never heard of Snapchat? Guess I'll be OK.
