Source? This was a 7 week long prediction. A day or two without precipitation doesn't mean the monsoon is over. We can't have monsoon in Central AZ unless Tucson does too.
-
Heard an interesting prediction from NOAA this morning. The monsoon moisture shows no sign of easing up through the beginning of October.

Yeah but this guy is trespassing. He drove a quarter mile thru posted land then whips his lil Willie out like he's gonna rape somebody. His outie should be outed.

I put a surveillance camera on our front gate a week ago. Was expecting burros, an occasional deer, or anyone screwing around. Didn't take long to get pics but I wasn't expecting porn so soon

A buddy called me this afternoon, said there was a dead tiger across the road from the hotel. He was close. I'd put him at about 35lbs.

For that particular structure, would not apply. Idea is to keep you and your projectiles and pointy sticks more than a 1/4 mile away. Looks like it's gonna be a fantastic quail season. I drove past a covey last week that hand hundreds of birds in it. Literally 300 yards of wall to wall quail.

Lots of options since it's 5000sq' on nearly 5 commercial acres.. Kitchen and bathrooms are soon to be remodeled, the building sealed. One of the saving grace's is it was built using ol growth redwood, her bones are sound. Maybe some Airbnb, horse camp, tourist lodging to compliment the owners patented mines about 8 miles north. Open to suggestions. Worst part of the venture to date is the local hick click. All the neighbors are acting grateful the hotel is being saved and revitalizede. I've known some of these folks for decades. But at the same time they act like it's public land and they can meddle. Don't get me started on the utility companys, county and DOT. Thank goodness the new owner has the $ to keep a slew of lawyers, professionals, etc and can afford to keep a rather jolly disposition throughout.

I obtained a mining claim a few years ago in the Prescott National Forest. Ol prospector before me lived on it for 12 years, even built a shack there. He'd probably still be there if he hadn't been flooded out and later murdered.

You pretty much nailed it buddy. Morristown was once known as Castle Hot Springs Junction. The 16 room hotel was primarily built as a stop off, overnight location for wealthy tourists coming and going first by railroad then by stagecoach to Castle Hot Springs Resort. I've been driving by this place for over 40 years, drank at the bar in the 80's, now helping the new owner bring this 123 year old Arizona treasure back to life.

I'm going to endorse a guy on my work crew whom does off-road recovery work. I know well he gives stranded motorists priority over his day job and does remote welding, under carriage and metal fab work too when needed. Put this name and number in your phone. Mike Morgan +1 602-397-7897

Nah, that was it's modern name. It was originally a hotel that sat south of the tracks about a mile from it's current location.. Morristown went by a different name in 1899.. Clue: The name will make perfect sense when you hear it.

Part II. What was it's name back in the day?

Correct Should have known a railroad guy would have it.

Now multiply that times the lakes surface area, o my.

Yes and the Inflation Reduction act. Amazing how a culture that can't tell an innie from an outtie thinks they are going to control nature

Was just reading an article from the Las Vegas Journal, Lake Mead has risen 15" in the past week. They're partially crediting the wettest monsoon in decades for that. They must have some real brainiacs working there.

I pass by a fellow every day whom is clearly squatting on State Trust, he's had his trailer parked there close to a year. He'll probably move on once the place fills up with ATVs this fall.
-
And then went on a trail ride with her and her horse Harley the very next day lol.

I'd have my mother in law straddle that cable long before I d risk soiling my floor mats. Besides, I think she'd like the fresh air and being a part of the action.

If the ol lady is volunteering at the food bank down there Saturday and you still have it maybe she can swing by?

Yes sling and psychrometric wheel . Had a 40" mercurial barometer too which we dialed every Thursday at 12Z to synch the aneroids. Was among the first couple dozen people in AZ to be trained on the Doppler color radar. Prior to that we used a B-52s air to air radar which showed clouds and precip well. Memories (I know, big whoop, yawn).

Problem is the automated WX stations are notoriously inaccurate. A recent audit of automated stations showed 96% violated NOAA standards for environmental placement and reliable metering. This is true with rain gauge precipitation amounts as well as wet and dry bulb temps and pressure. When I was a young Airman plotting weather charts, we simply ignored automated data.
