Yah it is OK only one of the premier Mule Deer units in the country and all that

I am very lucky this is my second trip in 3 years but last time I only had 1.5 days to hunt so I shot a little 2 point for the meat. I just started cruising through these forums and it is killing me having to wait now.

I can't fricken wait to get out there this year for the rifle hunt. Starting to read these forums is making it worse.

It has been a while since I hunted Deer in 20a but I have hunted Javelina a few times since. Try the area along the roads that go from Kirkland Junction to Skull Valley. Always seems to be a lot of Deer in there and on occasion I have seen a few larger bucks. I wouldn't call this a trophy unit by any means but there are some decent Deer in there. Closer to Skull Valley might be crowded or it may not. They have closed a lot of smaller dirt roads there so maybe no one wants to walk in? Worth a look if that is the area you are planning on going.

I may or may not have a timer on my phone telling me it is 22 Days, 17 hours and 13 Minutes until 7am on October 26th. That is when I will begin my 8 glorious days on the East Side Kaibab.
