Help with 35A hunt
My Rights As An American replied to Josh_86er's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in Arizona
Welcome to the site. First place to look for information is always going to the Arizona Game and Fish game management unit information. This will get you started on places to start researching through maps and going out to check out first hand. Good luck! -
Santa Catalina Bighorn Restoration Project
My Rights As An American replied to cmc's topic in Bighorn Sheep Hunting
Thank you to the following: CMC for bringing this issue up for all to discuss and volunteer if they believe in the project. Ben for coming on here and bringing excellent facts and insight. A brilliant and astute theory on why the herd declined beginning in 1986. Amazing how a single incident from one ram could be blamed as a major contributor for the entire wipe out of that herd. May not have been the only factor, but a major factor nonetheless. Everyone for all of the opinions expressed pro and con for this project. I can see both sides of the issue. In an effort to ensure future success, if the project were to progress, it is absolutely imperative that the science and research be whole and accurate to ensure success or study the failure. In my opinion, if the science is quality and the possibility exists to reintroduce this incredible herd species back to this area, I am all for it. As a hunter and taxpayer, I believe it is our absolute responsibility to shepherd projects that ensure our future access to a more balanced ecosystem that allows us to be part of the ecosystem and harvest animals but also replenish them through good quality healthy ecosystem management. There are so many success stories that we need to consider: whitetailed deer were almost wiped out but have rebounded through sound management; goulds turkey; merriams turkey; elk (all subspecies); bison; eagles; etc. However, for every success story lies a failure, and if we have not learned why the failure existed, we are doomed to repeat it again at much cost and effort. As hunters, we must be good stewards of the land its resources. If done properly, the success stories can be almost too good to be true. The big question in this case, will it be done properly? What caused the failure in the first place? Does the science support this reason? What will be done to prevent the reason for the failure from occuring again? These are the questions that must be answered prior to the expense and effort of reintroduction. A successful reintroduction will lead to increased hunter opportunity, increased population size for future transplant and herd growth (read: more hunter opportunity again!), public enjoyment of the resource (my kids would get to see bighorn sheep roaming the range again), etc. A failed reintroduction will always lead to an "I told you so!!!". -
Cabelas has them on sale, a Caldwell, for $19.99. Good quality, well worth the price. I think I may pick one or two up for that price.

2 Savage Model 24s!!!
My Rights As An American replied to My Rights As An American's topic in Classified Ads
Both savages now sold. Thanks. -
I am selling one or two Savage Model 24s, not sure yet but if interest in both, I will sell both. I hate to see these go, but I need a 16 foot tandem axle trailer with ramp, so I need the cash more. These guns have become quite collectible in recent years and both are in very good shooting condition. The first is a collectible side barrel selector switch with wood stock in 22lr over 410. Barrels clean, no problems. Stock has a few tiny paint splatters from previous owner, new buttplate that is a little too large but can be shaped to fit perfectly and a broken originally plastic trigger guard. A new trigger guard costs about $15 shipped from Numrichs. Have not had time to enjoy this gun. Great for beginners or preppers who love two guns in one without changing barrels. Listed elsewhere for $425 but will sell here for only$400. Second is a hammer barrel selector switch 22lr over 20 gauge that is in very good condition. Barrels and stock are very clean and shoots great! Awesome guns with two different barrels. Can buy barrel inserts for the 20 gauge to shoot larger centerfire rounds than the 22lr rimfire. Listed elsewhere for $450 but will sell here for only $425. Buy one, buy all. It does not matter, just buy! Thanks everyone!

Hey, anybody have a lead on a used, clean upright canister LEM sausage stuffer in 5lb or larger? I have some work to do and it takes too long on the grinder with stuffer attachment. Anybody have one used for sale reasonably priced? Otherwise, does anyone know of another brand that does not use plastic gears that is good? Thanks everyone!

What's your favorite dove ammo so far this year?
My Rights As An American replied to Scooter's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
I really like the 375 H&H Magnums loaded to 425 grains, personally. Leaves no doubt. To make it sporting, I do not use a scope, I just take a windage, elevation, spin drift, cross wind, altitude, air density, humidity, cloud cover and wind direction readings and "let 'er rip"!!! -
Dove question
My Rights As An American replied to couesdeerhntr's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
Check the Game and Fish website, has plenty of information on this subject. There is a map of the valley that I found helpful enough to make some decisions on where to hunt! -
Is anyone else...
My Rights As An American replied to Scooter's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
Have not missed a single bird yet! Haven't shot yet, but haven't missed either! -
Chest freezer
My Rights As An American replied to My Rights As An American's topic in Classified Ads
Tentatively sold. Will stay in contact with both interested parties. Thanks everyone! That was much quicker than I thought. -
Just bought a new upright to replace two smaller chest freezers. Up for sale is a GE chest freezer about 6 cubic feet in very good condition, NEVER been used outside, always an inside freezer. White color, normal outside wear with small scratches, clean inside. Metal separator inside. Asking $85. Well worth it, nice and clean. No problems at all! Located near BassPro. May deliver if reasonable distance if you cover gas. Thanks!

2 Savage Model 24s!!!
My Rights As An American replied to My Rights As An American's topic in Classified Ads
I thought that I had purchased the new trigger guard, and I had! I just put my hands on the new trigger guard, so the 22lr over 410 has a trigger guard and the only "issue" is the slightly larger buttplate. -

Trade you for a pair of snake gaiters?!? Hee Hee. Ttt. -
Bummer how a guy cannot even show his appreciation to Amanda for a great site without someone dumping on the appreciation. Seems like the people who have been here a while and contribute the most are the most appreciative while just the opposite seems true. Sad, very sad. Tells us far too much about the information age and the loss of social skills being instilled within our society. Thanks hoghntr for reminding us that we all need to stop and thank Amanda again for bringing together a group of people with far ranging backgrounds to discuss commonalities and differences amongst us and our hunting styles. THANKS AMANDA!!!!!!
