I used one last year and was very impressed with the clarity. It seems to be equal to the best 65s out there. Optic planet or one of the big suppliers has them for $1399 with a neoprene case. It’s the 125th anniversary addition and will be black instead of green.

Well hunted .260 Remington Tikka stainless fluted super light in black factory plastic stock. Stock was bedded with Devcon and dremeled to eliminate pressure points. Stock has numerous scratches from hunting Coues and javelina. Load development and several hunts puts the round count between 150 and 200. Could be lower but I’d rather guess on the high side. Current mild load is 143 ELDX at 2820. This load was used in another Tikka and shoots .6 MOA in both. Might tighten up if you want to spend time tuning it, but I was happy to have one load for both rifles. Longest kill was a Coues at 560 yards by a 13 year old youth hunter. Several javelina out to 300 yards. It’s been a great rifle but my kids are have gotten bigger and want to move into larger calibers. Bare rifle $500 FTF in Tucson Additional items such as rings ,brass and dies available.

We have hunted deer and javelina out of a RZR 1000 XP4 and it does work. It gets pretty tight with 3 or 4 adults and all the gear. Might take multiple trips to haul out a large animal. The trade off to me is having the RZR for non hunting rides. It’s fast and a lot of fun to blast around trails, beaches or wherever your weekend takes you. Those weekends happen a lot more often than hunting trips.

The skull plate is still intact but is pretty small. I started with leaving a little extra and trimmed it down until it just fit inside the edges.

Decided to try a $28 Amazon mount on my last Coues. It’s made of metal but the shiny paint gave it a plastic look. I used a scrubbing pad and soft scrub to dull/distress the finish. Overall, it’s pretty well made and simple to throw together.

Not mine but thought someone might need them.

Using a digiscope on Meopta 15s
no worries replied to no worries's topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
Thanks for the responses. Lance, my eyecups twist out just like yours. The eyecup just didn’t seem that tight or secure when I twist them out. It’s not like they are going to fall out but they wiggle some. So, I was trying to clamp on to the armored barrel with the eyepiece twisted in. The barrel angles out, this causes the digiscope to slide off the back as I tighten down the ring. I spoke with a rep from Meopta and he had a couple of suggestions. He recommended to twist the eyepiece in and try to build up the barrel next to the eyepiece so it matches the wider part, using inner tube or similar material. He also said they cold make a custom ring that had a taper built in to it. He had no idea what that would cost but alluded to being pretty pricey. I think for now , I’ll try to get more secure fit with the eyepiece twisted out. I’ll also mess around with inner tube or O rings and see if I can find a way to secure it with the eyepiece twisted in. thanks again Jim -
Using a digiscope on Meopta 15s
no worries posted a topic in Photography of Coues Deer and Other Wildlife
I ended up buying a Novagrade double gripper to digiscope with an 8 plus iPhone. It works great with my spotting scope but the Meopta 15s angle out so much from the eyepiece that it’s difficult to tighten down. If I screw the eyepiece out it kinda works but just doesn’t feel secure. Am I doing this wrong ? Anyone have a solution on how to attach a digiscope to Meopta or other optics that are angled? thanks Jim -
$289 is hard to beat.

Selling 3 CamPark T40 trail cameras. Purchased last September. Will include 6 micro SD cards (32 G Samsungs). I used these for 4 months and decided to stick with Stealth Cam. Good picture quality , I haven’t used the video option. Lots of info and positive reviews on the internet. My only complaint is they trigger easily and since I leave them out for months they can fill the SD card before I check them. Windy areas will need some vegetation removal to prevent shots of blowing grass or bushes. $100 for 3 cameras and 6 micro SD cards Located in Tucson cameras are SOLD

Anyone reloading the 300 PRC ? Would like to hear some results. Picked up a Bergara Highlander with a 24 inch, 1/9 twist barrel. thanks Jim
-
A friend did some load development with my Bergara after finally receiving ADG brass. Final load is ADG 300 PRC brass 215M primer Berger 215 hybrid (.010 jump) RL 26 2921 FPS ( 24 inch factory barrel) There might be faster accuracy node but I don’t see any reason to push it.

Wow. Usually it’s a routine drive thru by the management company or a bit Chan neighbor. Your HOA takes themselves pretty serious. Good thing to move on.
-
HOA management companies ( if you have one) are hired and paid by your neighborhood board of directors. They take direction from that board on how strict to manage communities. Lots of control freaks on those boards. Go to your board members if you want changes (or better yet become a board member. Arizona planned community act helps keep HOAs in line. State law trumps any restrictions they try to impose.
