Used to draw about every year I applied for archery antelope in the 80's then I started applying for rifle hunts. I finally drew an 18a rifle hunt in 1996 and basically shot the first buck I saw and my hunt was over in first 4 hours. Told myself I would never shoot another antelope with a rifle again and have only hunted them with a bow ever since. In last 22 years I have had two 5B tags(back to back years) and one 19a tag. Still waiting to tag my first Arizona antelope with a bow and arrow.

I guess the state has not been getting the moisture that I thought they were. I was picturing a blanket of white from Williams to Alpine.

Buy the machine, rent the wife by the hour and thank me later.

Still brings tears to my eyes every time I hear the word Python. Had a beautiful 6" blue and I needed money for college. Sold it for $400. This was the old days when you put it in classifieds ads in paper. A guy called me at 5:00 am the morning it was first listed and it was his by 5:30. Man I regret that.

Usually opens a day or two before the jr. spring turkey hunt if there has been snow on the ground. One year the boys and I met the guy at the gate on our way to their hunt the day before opener.

If you reduce the number of cows killed every year eventually you will have more animals to hunt.

#1 I have for sale a Glenfield model 30A (Marlin mod. 336) with 4X 40 mm bushnell sportview scope. Also comes with 4 boxes (80 rounds) of remington 150 grain core-lokt bullets. I bought this gun brand new in 1978. Gun has less than 300 rounds thru it. Not mint condition but certainly not abused. $225 obo (sold)
#2 Marlin model 60 .22 semi-auto rifle with 4X32 mm Sovereign scope. $110 obo
#3 Charter Arms AR-7 Explorer Survival Gun. I have original box and paperwork from my original purchase in 1982. Gun has less than 100 rounds thru it. Entire gun breaks down and fits it the butt of stock. It is water proof and even floats. Semi-auto .22 cal and very accurate. $200 obo
Guns just sit in safe and have not been shot in years

I agree with above and will even take it a step further to say never kill more than one per 5 in a herd. Never kill one if 5 or less in a herd, only take one from a herd of 6-10, two from 11-15 etc. By far javelina are the hardest animal to locate for me consistently. I used to have a couple good spots but they have disappeared over the years. I now have one good spot and my lips are sealed. Anymore, I consider it a successful hunt just to locate a herd.
IMO all the junior tags in the fall and the fact that you can now kill two javelina, has had a negative affect on herds and herd sizes.

They need to cut all cow hunts in half. Stop killing the baby makers.
