I had a factory Vanguard 2 that shot clover leafs on a regular basis with factory Weatherby ammo, my first Vanguard shot just as good with hand loads and a consistent 3/4 in +/- with 180 partitions factory load.

X-Caliber Stainless Steel, Match grade barrel, Chambered in 3006 SPR. Shilen # 3 Contour .630 at the muzzle, 24 in. 1/10 twist, 100 rounds fired. Shoots .76 to .79 with 168 gr. TTSX. haven't tried seating them closer than 50 thousand from lands. Shoots factory Remington core-lokt 180 gr. .95 in. I haven't tried Bergers, A-MAX, etc. These sell new for 340, $250.00 I can also install and head space the barrel for you if you don't have the tools, free of charge.
