Hey! Time to sell some stuff. Bear is growing up and has outgrown a few items. Also selling a Fenix Headlight. (I can't get used to the cord- otherwise it's stellar. At 6'6" I can't tilt my head down when the powerpack is on my belt) First- Deuter Kid Comfort 3.- $230 Details can be found here: http://www.deuter.com/US/us/kids/kid-comfort-3-46534-black-grey.html Awesome baby backpack. He just doesn't fit. Used about ten times- no rips or stains. Great condition. Second: Portable Baby Crib Guave Lotus Travel Crib (with deluxe sheet/mattress, which was purchased seperately) $150 Details here: https://www.guavafamily.com/pages/travel-crib Lightweight and portable with a backpack box for travel. Third: Fenix HP30R Headlight. $85. It's a beast. Has battery pack attachment which can also charge other USB devices in the field. I think it might be Fenix's strongest headlight- not sure. Charged about 20x. Comes with original box. https://www.fenixlighting.com/product/fenix-hp30r-rechargeable-headlamp/ Thanks for reading. (The pics are sideways- I give up trying to get it righted)

223 No sh!t. WHAT BULLET Lol well i want to say I had my Winchester super x on deck. I want to say I didnt use my 55 grain target loads and didnt mix them up. The round exited out his back, I remember him twisting and biting towards his back- he thought he got bit.

64 grain. And yeah.. I dont think it expanded well.

Id bump that up a little. A 45 would be the smallest Id consider. Probably use the Buffalo bore rounds. (If they make that for a 9mm it would make things easier for you) I called in a herd to a few yards and nailed the meanest looking scarred up javelina Ive ever seen at 4 yards with a 223. Hit him square in the chest and he went down. Trying to scare the other ones off and this guy gets up and runs into the worst cactus/cat claw patch known to man. Acres of it. You could see the tunnels underneath of the canopy where they had Made their highways. I looked for a full day and had to leave. I never recovered. Youd think a .223 is big enough for a football with legs. I had enough gun but it didnt do the job. I hunt pigs with an 06 now- that usually does the trick and drops them where they got shot. Id hate for you to have track down something you hit with a smaller caliber and not recover. If you do use a 9mm see if Buffalo bore makes a bear round for a 9mm

A ton of units are closed for bear- are you sure your unit of choice is open? There's always a big pistol option and a bow?

Was thinking of a non-electric: https://www.walltentshop.com/products/riley-tent-pellet-stoves

I got some of the pics downloaded off the camera. I wasn't joking about the Antelope Mafia.
-
And get a j-13 call. That thing is amazing! Ive called in herds of 20+ from quite a distance. YouTube it so you know what it should sound like. Think baby pig squealing.

Stellar deal if its in good shape.

And the light is sold.

Yeah Im with ya. I hiked about 25-30 miles over 6 days and drove a ton to get from hike spots all over the unit. The family came, and had wifey pick me up at the end of the hike. I went over most of the cones and hills in the middle north of the unit. I walked over the white horse hills, most of the cones, Missouri bill, etc.. a ton of antelope and deer, and 3 cows. Never saw a bull. I had a good time and a lot of good advice. They just werent there in numbers. I heard it wont even snow in the area till 2018.

That's just wicked cool. Great job!

Some thoughts after spending 8 days in an Alaknak with a wood stove in 7-E. Get a pellet stove instead. I know theres a balance with the dampener and the front o2 holes in the stove to get a burn going for several hours but I havent got that down yet. I hear a pellet stove is the bomb. Getting up 6x a night sucks. And yes Im using the biggest logs that will fit. Keep all liquids in the tent. Everything freezes. I mean.. everything. At 1 degree its all frozen. We all had wiggys ultimate Thule bags that are good for -20. I think thats what kept us going. I cant recommend them enough. When the stove goes out or theres no fire or if youre in the apocalypse , zip up and wait for morning.

JS, those antelope run the unit. The one with the collar is the boss. If you pay tribute, they all point to where the elk are.

Day 3. I watched Humphreys get snow on top this morning. heck of a wind today. Ive seen sign all over, just not enough to keep an interest in one area. Ive walked 15 miles cross crossing from white horse to Missouri bill. Hit and miss. Maybe Tuesdays temperatures will help out. And it IS a zoo. Ive heard theres 3 blinds at co bar. Still hammering it out today. Im going to hover around some hills and get away from the roads. Ive been down 3 closed roads so far, all in accident. Theyre only putting up signs on one side of it- theres no way to tell until you see the sign in the other side.
