I had to pull my buddy's Nissan Titan (2wd) up certain bump spots on the way to Edwards Park last November. 2wd just couldn't cut it. But- it all depends on where you plan to go I guess.

That's a challenge. I'd recommend at least a 4x4. Weather changes, you might not get in as easily as you get out. I did the first 5 years of hunting with a 98 Yukon and a trailer. No problems. (You need to carry the coolers).

Thanks for that- yeah- I can't wait to hike up to the cones. I think that might be a bit more productive. And after all, a million things will change between now and Dec, and like several have mentioned, weather plays a huge factor. For me, half the fun is exploring

Thanks! It's a cow hunt for me in Dec. I'm kind of dreading some of that unit in the snow..

They're all from the drone. There's a ton of footage- those are some stills. These are from the iphone =) It actually did help. I jumped it up about a 100 feet and realized there was a water hole next to camp. It was too small on the map, I didn't catch it. I didn't see any elk, but we had a dozen deer come within 100 yards of camp. Good stuff!

dang that's fantastic!

Hmmm, so what was the strange object in the sky this morning?

They say the fragments, if any - landed close to Cibeque? -
I'll try to get it done in August. But having my favorite unit open in dec as a backup is a definite plus!

http://latino.foxnews.com/latino/news/2016/05/27/arizona-sheriff-warns-memorial-day-travelerers-to-beware-cartel-assasins/?intcmp=hplnws I know what the traffic is like, that's enough by itself that I'll stay home this weekend.

I never had a color phase bear on camera before.. but it made me do a double take. This was Unit 22.

I'd also be willing to trade it for (or towards) an AR-15 Something entry level like a DPMS.

Selling my Ruger Vaquero 45 Long Colt - $600 Purchased around 1995, it's an Old Style Vaquero. Barrel is about 5.5 inches, and the blue is 'case hardened' - really a beautiful finish. I think I put about 100 rounds through this gun. Hasn't been shot in a long time. It's not 'new', but in excellent condition. Great back up gun for the field. Im in North Phoenix, shoot me a PM. And even if you don't buy it, Merry Christmas

Ok, I admit it. I was a bit skeptical. My son had saved up and bought a Bebop 2 drone. I'm hooked. Below is a link to his first video- I can just think of the possibilities of the arial shots and the "I wonder whats up there" moments. It'll be fun scouting. Of course, it's illegal for hunting. I'm well aware and wouldn't break the rules. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7YoLD6gkugg

Weird! I'll back out and try again. I skipped that part altogether somehow. Thanks!

So, the boys are doing junior deer and I'm doing archery this year. Trying to put a bonus point in for me and the wife. I click on 'No, i want a bonus point" but it's not species specific. Is that how it works? (First time applying for just a point)

It just came in today. (Just in time) Wifes Bday- I got her a Wiggys Ultima Thule w/ Overbag. This is a beefy bag! When you use both, it's rated to -60. (In Arizona, I can't test this- but I believe it) For what it's worth- I've never seen such a beefy bag (with a lifetime warranty). This thing is phenomnal! If you're interested- here's the link: http://www.wiggys.com/sleeping-bags/hunter-ultima-thule-rectangular-sleeping-bag/ Cant wait to see how it actually stands up! She'll be ready for the cow hunt in 7E/December.

Camp on the East side of knoll lake- take the 300 and turn north right before it. Tons of good spots- probably not a lot of people and easy walking down to the lake.(My 2 cents)

No, I see your point. We've never been there before, and think this might open up some opportunities to get some great footage and a feel for whats out there. My son is really into this now (It's cool, I can't deny) and he's going to be brushing up on some aerial photography and video magic and what-not. As far as scouting, I might pop it over a volcano cone in the northern part and see what it looks like inside, or get a better view of something in the distance. I'm still pretty old fashioned about scouting, and I like to use the shoes over technology. Sure it'll be fun to take a few shots, but you don't know the area until you've walked it. To me, that's half the fun. What we won't be doing is intentionally harassing anyone or any wildlife. I doubt we would even put it in the air if I saw anyone remotely close. Drones freak people out- I totally get it and they probably don't want to deal with it. (Although, I will say this one is pretty quiet) I plan on getting up there next month and spending a few days on the roads and hills. My google maps are so marked up with 7E spots that you can barely see the map. =)

I did. And I'm not really going to go all out using this thing, just some aerial shots. F&G Rules dictate you can't even touch a drone two days before a hunt.

Does it still tow well that high up? Any other modifications other than the kit? I have a 04' F250..

Interesting topic.. And you know, most of us have seen something we can't explain. We're out in the middle of nowhere and look up in the sky.. What the heck was that?! (Actually, that's a better topic than Bigfoot) Does Bigfoot exist? Prolly not. Someone would have found them by now I'd think. But you never know.. And if he does, he's probably not that harmful. You don't see many news stories of lost folks being found eviscerated. (Other than the random bear).
