I can tell you that the Flats have pretty good action by the cliffs. It's towards the west end of the lake- as it funnels from Horseshoe.

I think I found it on the maps. I might be hitting it this weekend, as luck would have it there's a ranch about 5 miles from there I'm interested in. ..That's just too weird.

I don't do a lot of towing, but the Goodyear Kevlar MT/R's are just fantastic. Quiet enough on the street, and more than enough for the dirt.

So later this month the Javelina general hunt is happening. in 18B, there's a full albino javelina running with a mixed herd of javelina/wild boar. I know, weird. But it's true. It's been awhile since I've seen them. If you happen to see/harvest this guy, share a pic?

Great job!! I love success stories!

Maybe. Yeah, looks like about 1.50 a minute. The only appeal here is that it's rechargeable, not a contract. I'm thinking there's probably better products though.

Something I came across. Thuraya sat sleeve for your smartphone. Basically it's a sleeve/case that your iphone fits into, and comes with an app. The phone pairs with the sleeve via bluetooth. Also comes with an app. Out of service? Hit the app, and make a satellite call anywhere on the planet. Not bad! Rechargeable minutes. www.thuraya.com

Yeah no joke! Is this above Snowflake?

I'm going to say nice job. A 9mm is probably a bare minimum- I've hit Javelina with a .223 at 8 yards in the chest as a frontal shot ..and it ran away. Wasn't fun tracking that guy.

So we wait until early April or so? Is that about right?

Time for a new tuck Diesel or Gas
Jazz replied to AZBUCKEYE's topic in Miscellaneous Items related to Coues Deer
It's a great topic. I've had my 98 Yukon for 16 years now, replaced the motor and just about everything else. It's a 4wd beast. It's big. ( I have a big family). When the other car died, I picked up a 04 F250 6.0 Diesel. I didn't know the rep at the time, and luckily I got a good one. I wanted to get a big RV and that's still on the list, but it's now my daily driver and I wont go back to the truck without a fight. Wifey drives the yukon now. With diesel it's not only the maintenance, (do it yourself!) but if something breaks it's not hundreds, it's thousands. If you have the money, get a diesel. If that might be an issue, get a good gas pickup. I know the vortec engines are pretty solid but If I had to get one myself, I'd look into a Tundra. Another thing- Diesels aren't that great in 4wd. Heavy things sink quick. -
Once you get setup, try to brush the stand in with some twigs/branches tied to the tree to kinda camo it out and make you less visible. One thing I would advise, is setup markers on the ground (20 yards/30 yards, etc by utilizing logs and rocks in the area) and practice shooting a small archery ball at those ranges. They're pretty lite and you can just carry them to your spot. That way if a buck comes in, you know exactly how far it is and what your pin needs to be on. It makes a world of difference in confidence and accuracy.

Elk Pack for 200? That's a smoking deal. I paid well over 300 for mine. If I didn't have one, I'd buy this one.

Hunt success in Unit 18B on the juniors hunts!
Jazz replied to Capt. Don Martin's topic in Youth Hunters
Thats a great success story! -
Someone mentioned Fry's, and that's where I got mine. I think I got the cheaper DLink system for $50 a camera. It'll ping your phone, as mentioned above. What I think you need is a DVR Recorder system. It's fairly easy to install, and probably around $200. It'll record everything it sees. When it runs out, it'll just record over itself unless told not to. Fry's is your friend. Most have a step by step that will hook up to your router. If you need any help send me a PM.

That did it. Thanks!

I bought 4 licenses this year online, and I couldn't print any of them. Is there some way to go back and do that? Each time I tried I got some error on their website.
