Same. I took mine in Sept I think. It didn't register online, and I called. They said although it doesn't show, it'll count in the elk hunt. I'm hoping that's accurate.

Elk? We're in. After putting in for a late rifle hunt for myself and youth cows for the boys, I'm been consumed about the 'what ifs'. It would be our first elk hunt, and I'm trying to figure out all the gear I might need to replace. For two days all thoughts have been spinning -Fixing up the bighorn, or I have to get an alaknak. Need some Vortex Kaibabs, maybe a new Viper scope for the 06. Is the 06 big enough? Maybe I need a 300 WSM. Does the truck need mud terrains? It'll be snowy and muddy. And cold! Do we all need new base layers? Ah crap all the sleeping bags suck. Wiggies.com? And I need a trailer- something that'll hold a polaris crew I hope. Ohhh I need a UTV.. It's kinda funny how this all starts.. but we go hunting as a family at least 5x a year and all of our gear is just thrashed. It's catching up to us.

Thanks for the explanation. Hoping we both get drawn this year! - And if the boys get their youth tags- it'll be 4 elk. If we get just one I'd be happy =)

Wifey wants to join the elk hunt. She has 1 point, 1 have 4. Does she stand the same chance as I do if we're on the same card?

My thoughts as well. I put in for 4A Bull. (My favorite unit- why not). Then I I'm thinking about 7E, 7W, 8, and 6a. Hopefully I stand a chance.

Like everyone mentioned, snakes.. My only fear walking in Arizona. Of course, they shouldn't be out right now. But in Arizona, there's always a % that are somewhere. I'm pretty sure a ton of folks have had their close encounters, I saw it earlier.. "1st wakes them up, second gets bit". True story. I doubt you'd see any at night. If they're out it's too cold to move. There's always that 1% though. Hate snakes..

Hi all, Have a large 8 x 6 table for sale. It used to be a cutting table for fabric, but I no longer have need for it and it's just taking up space. It's very heavy, sturdy, and will not fit through a standard door. It might be possible to take it apart and put back together, but that's something I'm not willing to do. It has excellent industrial applications and is an excellent table for any crafts or hobbies you might have. Also has a working electrical socket. (Just plug an extension to it).

I know a lot of you have a diesel, so I thought I'd post this. They're cracking down on catalytic converters. I had bough a truck from Trucks Only in Nov 14, and they had ran the truck through emissions two weeks prior to the sale. Passed with flying colors and sold me the truck. I go to run it through emissions this year and the they said Opacity was perfect at 1%, I failed because it had an aftermarket cat. I told them that they passed it in 2014, so they should pass it this year. They said someone must have missed it - that they're cracking down this year on catalytic converters on diesels and are about to do some changes. They told me I'd be financially responsible for replacing it, even though they missed it in 2014. I'm still going for a waiver. Just a heads up that if you have anything aftermarket in the catalytic converter area, they're probably going to catch it.

I dont know when they started, but I can tell you they're pretty serious about it this year.

Well, yeah.. that's the thing. There's no reason why I should spend over 1k changing out the cat when they called it legal last year.. If it wasn't working right, or I had to replace it, I absolutely would. Without a complaint. But since they called it good- and the dealer sold it- I shouldn't have to pony up for the repairs.

The better shape you're in, the easier time you'll have. Flexibility and stretching is all too important as well. We do these things to prevent injury in the middle of nowhere, with your 80 lb pack and the meat on the way to a cooler. Or how about the two bucks you saw on top of the peak? Maybe they'll come down and you wont have to hike. (Yeah right). I don't think there's an argument for staying out of shape.. and besides, there's other reasons to stay in decent shape.

Just curious- anyone been up there recently? Alot of snow? Still able to drive to the top?

So- Never been on an Elk hunt, not for lack of trying. The boys want to do Juniors Elk, and if they get picked, I can live through them =) Just curious, and some of you here know a lot better than I do- What's the best chances for a Jr Elk Draw? What are some of the better draws? Thanks- I know I'm not the only one wondering..

Yup. Regs are out. I'll do some number crunching and see what the best odds are. I'd go 23 for the youth hunt- if they get picked, just for the youth camp as mentioned above. (Thanks for that) I think there's only like 65 tags, so it would be a long shot. Maybe 4A youth- we know the area well. Maybe 22. I've even scared up elk at Edwards Park. Too bad it was a mulie hunt. Maybe I should buy a muzzie =) Maybe a general hunt. Planning out this stuff is half the fun.

I might even go that route. What are the better cow hunts? 10? I'm in it for the meat.. I have 3 points, the boys each have 2.

Hi All- Cleaning out the garage. I have some well-used Yukon step bars that fit on a 98 Yukon. Also have the tow hooks to go with it. One side is pretty good, the other side had an argument with a rock- and lost. But I have the piece that fell off. Anyways, free to whoever wants it. I'll keep it up for a week and then it's tossed.

I'd look into a SCT x4 and some tunes from Innovative Diesel. Best in the business.
