A few years back I had to go to court when I was involved in a car accident with a drunk driver. The person never showed but the prosecutor wanted me to stay in case the judge needed to hear from me. So while I waited the judge was doing sentence hearings. To keep me interested and not leave the prosecution would come back and fill me in on each case. And the crimes that were actually charged and the crimes that were committed were not even close. Meaning crimes committed were way worse than what they knew they could get convictions on. I’ve looked at the justice system differently ever since. I always think there’s more to the story. Don’t know anyone involved in this case or have any reason to have a bias but for it to be at this point, theres got to be more to the story.

Anyone that is out hunting and especially guides who have clients following their lead need to know the law and hold themselves and clients to a high standards. The thing I see time and again is when people try to twist the law in their favor and know they are wrong then try to make excuses and blame others for their own actions.

Did anyone hunt the Santa Margarita Ranch this past weekend. I guess access to some of the ranch has been closed. I am specifically looking to see if the road to Shaffer Camp is closed. Tons of State trust land but the road crosses small parts of private land. thx

Covid shutdown brought out a new class of campers and hunters. State also has 3 million new residents. It sucks but we’re going to have to clean up other peoples trash if we want these areas to stay open and it still may not be enough. My favorite shooting spot in the desert is getting trash on a regular basis now. Myself and friends have been trying to keep up with it to the point I have pallets on side of my house waiting for bulk trash. Eventually I’m sure BLM will say enough. Times change.

The road to Shaffer camp crosses two pieces of private land one for a hundred yards and one for 400 yds. I’m trying to find out if they closed the road at the 286.

I’m pretty sure it’s the steel case that allows the 80000 psi to achieve the 3000 fps in a 20 inch barrel. Otherwise it’s just a 280 rem.
