  1. While camping at the Spring Crappie Fest put on by the Arizona Crappie Association I stumbled upon a rattler that was next to my truck in the early evening.  Luckily it was not coiled and I actually saw it since it was not dark yet.  Scared the bejesus out of me and it was removed from camp.

  2. I got a cow on Saturday morning this past year.  Was looking for a bull on Friday and was going for anything after that.  There were a lot of hunters on the East side of the base so we went to the West side Saturday morning and was done in about three hours.  Tried for another tag this year but no luck.  Didn't run into any archery hunters on my hunt but scouting the few days before I ran into 2 of them on Thursday and they were not successful as of the time I saw them in the morning.

  3. I have 4 Arlo's and need to charge them about every other month or so depending on how much use they get.  You have free storage of videos for 7 days and then the videos get deleted.  You can have up to 5 cameras with the free account.  If you have any particular questions just let me know.

  4. I have had the privilege of going on a hunt with American Hero Adventures this past year for javelina and it was an AWESOME experience.  If you're not former military and don't qualify for their program but you would still like to go on one of their hunts all you have to do is buy a raffle ticket for one of their trips.  All of the proceeds go to help offset the costs of the trips for the Vets that are selected to attend.  If you have any questions please feel free to ask and I'll do my best to answer and if I can't I'll reach out to the Founder of the organization and get back with you.

  5. Was getting ready for work and ready to leave to go to Luke AFB when my wife, who was working night shift at St. Joe's, called me to tell me what was going on.  Hurried to the base before it was on lock down.  Didn't go home until the next morning.

  6. Kind of funny that I am listening to the Meat Eater pod cast with Joe Rogan right now. I listened to the El Supriso: The Grey Ghost (Ep. 102) earlier today. Just started getting into the pod casts now. I use player FM and so far it is awesome. The Art of Manliness is a great pod cast series and they have one called the Epic Story of Sport Hunting that is really good. Depending on the pod cast I listen to it at 1.5-2 times normal speed. With Steve he already talks really fast so I can only listen to him at 1.5!

  7. For those that have hunted Camp Navajo what are some of your suggestions for a successful hunt? I know the process and requirements to be able to hunt there, I have those covered so not asking about that. I have had a few tips from others on the board already but would like to hear as much as I can since you can only scout the week prior and I'll probably only be able to scout Wed/Thur before the hunt. Not interested in going into the restricted area since it is Archery only and I'd be going solo since my "hunting helpers" don't have the same credentials as me to be able to help out in there so we will be restricted to the Buffer Area. Been looking at google earth and starting to make a game plan but would like to hear from those that actually have boots on the ground experience. Thanks in advance.

  8. I have used both and I prefer the Outdoor Edge over the Havalon. The Outdoor Edges has a bigger less flimsy blade on it. I use a multi-tool to change the blade to reduce having an accident with a slippery gunky blade. Having been in the military I also carry quick clot that can be used for uncontrolled bleeding if something were to happen from the blade or anything else for that matter while out in the field. You can buy it at BPS or Cabela's, it's vacuum sealed and will last quite a while.

  9. I have the Louisiana Grills version and I love it. Not sure about the Cabela's but it's similar. With the LG I can sear steaks on the sear zone at 600 degrees unlike the Traeger but unsure of the Cabela's brand. Hope you like it, they turn out some great meat products.

  10. I have a 2015, 2500, 6.4 Hemi Tradesman that I love. It has 46K on it and gets 10-12 when towing my bass boat, 14-15 in town and 17-18 on long trips and . It gets me where I want to go when hunting and have not had any issues with it. This is my 4th Dodge since 07 only cause I trade them in when I get to 50K but I think I'm gonna keep this one for a while. If you get one be sure to add a leveling kit and 35s.

  11. Man I so want a Trager already.... 700 bucks is worth it though from what I hear.. Good ole Waddell.. Got some buddies that live off of Citrus

    Phil,

Go with a Louisiana Grills. They are made better and you can sear at 600 degrees when cooking steaks on it. Can't do that with a Treager.
