Green Bullet posted a topic in Mule Deer Hunting
3 days ago, Like a dipstick I set my pack and glass down and didn't walk more than 40 yards and wasn't able to relocate my stuff. I walked that area and then some in grids, circles, etc and couldn't find my for the life of me. I was in unit 12a east, took the 224 road down to the game trail road (220) and went south on the 220 right where it changes from burn to pine trees and junipers. I lost it at the top of a ridge glassing the northern facing side of a canyon. The area I was glassing from was burned. Maybe someone stole it right from under my nose but I'm hoping it's still up there and you late rifle hunters will find it. I can describe the bag, glass, and contents. Will make it worth your while if you return it to me as it had my core hunting stuff. Thanks. Miles -

when i buy a pack (not that i'm some super expert), i literally map out in my head what i need to carry and make sure the pack can accomodate it in an organized manner (Without being maxxed out on space).

i like my eberlestock x1/a2. it's not the lightest pack out there like a kuiu, but i like the scabbard option and bow bucket option to carry my weapon when im covering lots of country. it's well built and comfortable to carry with a good day hunting load.

if you can workout on the weekends you're half way there. i think 4 days of working out (with a combo weights and cardio) is plenty to maintain a good fitness level. so try and find two days if possible. when i travel, i can't count on the hotel to have a good weight system so i just focus my energy on cardio on those days (and maybe abs, etc).

300 gr SST for elk
Green Bullet replied to lionhunter's topic in Muzzleloader hunting for Coues Deer
i use 250 gr for any animal in AZ or the west for that matter. shot elk, mulies, whitetails, etc. never ran more than 40 yards....most dropped within 10. if it's shooting good at 300gr i don't think it's worth redialing in the system in at a heavier bullet size. my 2c
