Wish you could get some of the Texas rain

My neighbor in Mesa drove out to Picketpost mountain in Nov 23 ( I think) they went to the big clearing of the old highway to shoot but there were residual cars there from a rave party. They went down the road further to shoot. After a couple hours they decided to drive back to the mine road and look for a better place to shoot? Both in separate trucks. My buddy saw an I phone lying in the road so he picked it up. He drove on and there was a guy standing in the road. He stopped to not hit him. The guy came to his window and didn't say a thing. My buddy held up the phone and asked if it was his. The guy grabbed it and then tried to force his way into the truck. My buddy said he didn't have time to even grab his gun on his hip. Just hit the gas and drug the guy until he let go. He and his buddy decided to leave. They got out of there both shaken up [75 year olds) the next day he saw on the news that the guy who tried to car Jack him killed the next guy who came down the road!

🤫 Not everyone needs to know water is scarce

Sitka blacktail steaks, dutch oven vegies and a little potato salad. I hauled a load of mesquite to Kodiak so I could grill a proper steak

Good luck. Yes, water is scarce

December deer of some flavor. No sheep
-
I typically only put in for December hunts as I'm Arizona only December, February and March. If I get a sheep tag I'll be in AZ all of November though. I drew a 3A-3C tag 2 years ago. I still make that my first choice

My experience is that Az black rattlesnakes are least likely to bite off all the ones discussed here. They're typically at the elevations we hunt coues. Black tailed on the other hand have always been very aggressive in my encounters with them. There's a spot on n the Salt that we home into for catfish and we call it our rattlesnake spot. Always see 3 or 4 blacktails on the way in. I was hunting near one year in 24A glassing a big canyon that runs into Salt River canyon. Sat down in the dark. About 830 we got up to move and my buddy put his hand down to stand up. Put it right on top of a black coiled up. He jumped up and pulled his pistol. I told him not to shoot it as it was not aggressive to us and an god trait to pass on!

My wife and I were in Normandy on D-Day in 2002. The museum at Omaha Beach is tear jerking. Huge cemeteries in France and Belgium. Too many lives lost for our freedom

Last time I drove back i drove across 160 ( I think) wolf creek pass, Cortez, Shiprock etc. You can stop in Durango . Never been across to Moab.

Anyone know Jay Scott? It's he going to do a sheep podcast this month? He doesn't do but a couple podcasts a year that I can see.

Yep. I emailed Brian yesterday and he said they were

Lucky you! Took me 25 years to draw my antelope tag. Never drew an early rifle bull tag.

In the bonus pass? Man, I would guess 15 years give or take

Phil's in Mesa had been great for me abs a few buddies but had had bad reviews as well. I always took the transmission to him and this let him do what he did best. Phil died so but sure who is running it now.

I've said this before but in my pretty extensive experience taxidermists are about the shadiest people in the whole outdoor industry; for every good one there are 5 bad ones. I've been taken time and time again. I've had several friends who have sued them (and all have won judgements). If you can find a good one, don't shop around. I thought I had a good one at one point. Then one day he decided he was just going to quit working on stuff that he had. I have a grizzly that a taxidermist in Fairbanks style from me. It's always a gamble when you drop something off. Don't give up
