No you don't have to feed him for 30 years. Just do what they did in Santa Fe that led up to the riots. The guards wanted information and if somebody talked or not they put a snitch jacket on them. Lots of prisoners in PC didn't talk but had a snitch jacket on them and paid the price. Start a rumor out that he is going to spill his guts and I bet the cartels could make it so he don't make it 30 years. Send him down to Joe as he knows how to take care of prisoners. Besides even if he had the death penalty it would take over 15-20 years to carry it out. Unless you were in TX, then it might not take so long. Then you could have a governor like Tony Anaya who commutes the sentence, based solely on personal belief, so three prisoners can break out and go to CA and kill somebody else.

Yeah. Ticked off at the guberment for losing 2,000 guns in a botched gun trace deal. Blame the idiots not talking to each other "because we want all the credit and won't talk to other agencies". So the death penalty is off the table, the a-hole is still doing 30 years, at least it is on our side of the border. Put out a contract on him and let him get shanked.

question about auto repairs versus buying a new car
Red Sparky replied to naturegirl's topic in The Campfire
I was just at the body shop, wife crashed the 2013, and some lady with a Toyota had this to say. Her "LIMITED EDITION" was in a hail storm and this is what Toyota told her. Regular replacement hoods won't fit since it is a "LIMITED EDITION" and the replacement hoods are inferior in metal to any original replacement hood from Toyota. The only way to get it replaced is to buy the $600 hood from them as they are the only one that has them. She is in a fight with her insurance, Toyota, and the body shop. Her insurance doesn't want to pay for the Toyota hood, Toyota says that is the only hood that will fit is from them, and the body shop is caught in the middle. So that is something else to think about. -
question about auto repairs versus buying a new car

And they are full of crap. Oil pump should be mechanical off the crank shaft of the engine. If the engine is turning, with a good oil pump, you are getting oil. Fuel is probably electronic and computer could be shutting off pump but I bet it is sending fuel either to the throttle body or to the ports if MPFI. One time I took my wife's old Pontiac to the dealer and the first code was check o2 sensor. Five trips without them fixing the problem I looked over what the had done, first trip showed me the engine code, and I fixed the problem. They gave me all my money back. All my cars, with routine maintenance, have had over 200,000 miles on them before starting to have problems. They are not Toyotas however. -

I put a chain link fence top rail built like a saw horse 8' off the ground. Parents had carpet taken out of their house so I cut 3 pieces 10'x16' with padding and threw over top rail. That is my backstop, carpet and padding thrown over the top rail,10'x8' six layers of carpet and padding. If I miss my target I won't hit the brick wall again.

Can't wait to see them. -
So depending on the type of catchment they built you can see it on Google Earth. Also depending on the date of the picture you can see if the dirt tanks have water in them. Secret spots aren't so secret anymore.

All the horse roundups we have had over here have not taken all the horses off the land. Where is the FS proposal to remove all horses? They reduce the herd of the horses but never eradicate them. When we had the old SF pen ( remember the 1980 riot?) they had a horse program where the prisoners broke the horses and then sold them for the program. I thought it was great for both the prisoners and the horses. One time up by Farmington I cam across a snare with a horse skeleton in it. Better to round them up than have some idiot do that.

Don't use just one book for loads. I found this out when I started loading .38 semi-wadcutters using Unique powder. My Hornady book for minimum loads was +P or over for that load according to two other books. Good thing I only loaded 100 rounds and was using a .357 Mag, a S&W 686, to shoot them. So try to average three books or take the lightest load from all three books. -
I don't think they make them anymore but I have an old engine air. Pull a spark plug, put the adapter in place of the plug, hook up the air hose and five minutes later after idling the engine your tire is all filled up.

I hope to see those bulls on the ground with a happy youth hunter!

I wear ear protection. It makes my bow soooo quiet. No seriously any form of shooting/hunting with a firearm I wear them and make my daughters wear them. It helps to slow things down to make one good shot. The worst my ears ever rang was only one shot with a . 22 out of a pistol.

I don't think width will get much more at this point. I think you will see an increase in tine length. It appears to me to be a younger deer.

I would score him medium-rare, side of fried taters and onions, and a nice beer to wash it all down.

I've got two now both Cannon. EOS Rebel T3 and EOS Rebel T5i. I will either have the 75-300mm or 100-400 mm lens on almost always since I like closeups. When you start getting into cameras better than this they are heavier and bulkier, and weight makes a difference since I carry one with me always when I'm outdoors. I'm learning the big lens now. It was kicking my butt because of the weight and I don't use a tripod. The better I get at controlling camera shake carries right over to my bow and shooting. My 15 year old daughter wanted a good camera so last Christmas I got her a Nikon D3300 DSLR with the 18-55mm lens. This year she is taking a dual credit class (high school/college) in photography to start learning the ropes. Then I get to buy her more lenses so it looks like the 75-300mm will be my next purchase.

I just read again CNS pinned topic on being patient after the shot so since I have a few questions I thought I would make a #2 post since the last post was two years ago. A lot of good information in the original topic but it leaves me with a few questions. I hope it is like the first post and argument free as I would like different viewpoints. Trying to add more knowledge to my bag of tricks. Here is my scenario that is getting me upset. I watch these "hunting shows" on TV and it seems like a deer is shot close to dark. They start tracking and then decide to back out to recover in the morning. So they go back to cooked dinner and nice comfy beds and have "long sleepless nights". The next morning they recover a set of antlers and the rest has been eaten by coyotes. Also hunting in Sept. where the lows may only be high 50's low 60's and daytime highs are low 80's I want to field dress and start cooling off the meat ASAP. I agree that you need to give an animal time to expire and not bump it or you may never recover it. Now I mainly solo hunt until I can find a decent hunting partner. I carry with me a pack where I can spend the night out in the woods and not have to go back to camp. Not a comfortable night but food, water, shelter are covered in my pack and a fire if I want it. Would it be better to spend the night where you would give up the trail and listen for coyotes if they find your animal expired? Then you can head to the area and possibly find your animal with some meat still on the bones. It also seems like you would be at the right spot to start tracking again as soon as the sun comes up if you don't hear any coyotes. I figure if a bear or cougar find it I am not going to hear it anyhow like with coyotes. So what are your thoughts? My only problem is if the animal is still alive but too sick to get away from coyotes. It is illegal to shoot 30 minutes past sunset but to me it is more ethical to put the animal down quickly and humanely. That is a bridge I will have to cross if I am ever in that situation. Hopefully I am never in that situation but it is better to prepare for it.

I would argue that it is a "small battery-powered hand carried device..." Either way, I'll call the authority having jurisdiction and if they say no go then I'll gladly pass. If you wanted to argue it feel free. It took me 10 minutes to find it online so glad I could help you know where to look. Love the fact you like your own post.

I think game cams are illegal in FS or BLM wilderness by this definition. I think they mean handheld cameras are allowed. CFR-2011- title 36 section 261, prohibited uses, definitions: Motorized equipment means any ma- chine activated by a nonliving power source except small battery-powered handcarried devices such as flashlights, shavers, Geiger counters, and cameras.

The problem I have is the subcontractors that collect the fees. The fishing area up here by Jemez has day use fees for fishing and overnight camping. Years ago I bought one of those Eddie the Eagle passes that were suppose to give you free day access and half price camping fees. The reason I bought it was we were going to White Sands National Monument, Carlsbad Caverns NP, and Mesa Verde NP so I had access for a year for what the those entrance fees would have been. I did not have to pay entrance fees at any of those locations. Needless to say I was carrying the book that said I did not have to pay day use passes at FS campgrounds when the subcontractor (not from NM) said I had to pay. I pointed out I did not have to pay and they said I did. I said we won't be staying then and I will contact the FS Monday when I get back to Albuquerque. They changed their tune real fast, I still didn't stay and did contact the FS on Monday. I haven't been back except for fishing in the wintertime when subcontractors aren't there. So the extra fee you are paying is to the subcontractors that clean up and monitor the campgrounds, not the FS. I agree the FS should have enough funds from taxes to pay subcontractors and we should not have to pay extra.

Sounds like AZG&F was taken over by the NAHC. You now have the opportunity to send us more money to be a TROPHY Life Member rather than just a plain old Life Member.
