Hey folks, We were up early scouting in Unit 9 west side at a G&F water tank and saw the big dead lion laying right next to the water trough. Curious if anyone knows what happened, wonder how it died, starvation, it was pretty freshly dead if that is a term! There were 4 cameras on the fence.....got to have pics! Also wonder if the Elk would hesitate to drink water with the cat laying there? Anyway it was a good weekend, saw lots of Elk, thanks for reading!

Wow just read about the Durango fires! Terrible. Sure hope the rains start soon here, very dry, going up to Unit 9 today to put up some cams...

We were drawn for Early Arch deer near Durango! Now need to find a place to stay!

What is wrong with people! We were camping up by Happy Jack and guys come in there UTV's blazing by and visibly dusting our camp not slowing down even hitting it while zooming by while we are there! Where is the camping etiquette? I taught my kids to be respectful and slow down when you go by any camps but these guys just don't care..... I don't usually complain but jeez what the heck is wrong with people! How do we get back to manners and respect?? Just venting!

We have a few camp spots off the main road, this past weekend there was nobody within a mile of us but somehow the Razors managed to find us....of course they are adventuring like everyone else. But that's not an excuse to be disrespectful. and one more thing....they had young kids with them too! Great Mentoring!

I have one! We were in Unit 9, very late afternoon, My Son had to take a crap....we left and drove an hour to camp then noticed he left the pistol near his pile! Dang kid, we drove back in the morning and luckily it was still there! All good though!
