    Volunteer Game Deputies

Haha! Its not like it would be a box you can check when you apply for a license and you get a little badge icon on your permit! Maybe each warden could "train" 10 "deputies" per year. Would be a better use of the required time they have to spend "educating". Oversight on selecting those 10 people would have multiple layers of approval (interviews, character witnesses, background checks, etc), they wouldn't just be that LEO's cronies.

Like I said, punch lots of holes. I guess the idea of this thread is to bring about a discussion about enforcing rules/laws since history is showing there are fewer and fewer who play by them.

    What do you guys think?

Wow... great thread. Just found it and read it all, very entertaining, but disappointing at the same time. My biggest questions are why did the OP and sonnyaz get so quiet about the scenario once the 2-3 people in the opposing group and their friends started posting, and why did sonnyaz have to create another account to tell the story? If the series of events took place as described by sonnyaz, and I'm the original shooter or someone in his hunting party, there is no way in heck I'm walking away without that bull, especially with the physical evidence you say was there to tell the story. I wouldn't have left, nor allowed them to leave until there was LE present to mediate. ...that and I would also burn the cvnts house down.

HSUS Files in Arizona to ban Mountain Lion, Bobcat Hunting

This is horrible. Bears will be next. We'll have to get some of the national groups involved like BHA, The Council to Advance Hunting and the Shooting Sports, etc who have lobbyists and funding to help fight these idiotic attacks.

    WTB Used Camaro

Seems like every 3rd car on the road is either a charger, a camaro or a mustang, 90% of those being base models. They essentially all remind me of a dodge neon. At least go with an upgraded model to stand out a little.

    Anybody ever try this?

I tentatively set the dates as 1/4-1/7. I have eight deer points and feel I am getting close to a strip archery tag, so it will be take an epic buck for me to put a stalk on. This will be as much as a trip of exploration as it will be a hunting trip for me. That seems to be all of my trips as I'm figuring out this state! Sounds awesome!

Dirt/Trail Bike for getting into remote areas

OHV. Don't plan any on-road travel with it.
  11. I know lots of guys use side by sides and quads to get where they want to go, but I'm a minimalist- I don't have space to store atvs or a big trailer and I drive an SUV not a truck so no option to throw a quad and ramps in the back. My SUV is a 4x4 but its not a tricked out jeep and as you all know there are many roads that quickly become impassable in anything but a rock crawler... I'm seriously considering getting a dirt bike or trail bike that I can throw on a motorcycle carrier hitch or just loading onto a cargo hitch that I already own and being able to yank it off once the road runs out, load up everything that I need on my back and get to where I want to go. Question becomes, does anyone who uses this method have any advice? I'm not new to motorcycles, but I have never had a dirt/motocross style bike so I truly don't know which make or model would be the best option for this application and my build. I'm 6'3" and 210lbs, so I don't know if a 125 would be too small or if at minimum I need to be considering a 250 or what size of 4-stroke I should be looking at, etc. Knowing that too much power could be detrimental what would be "too much"? If the route becomes particularly nasty I can walk along side it to where the trail becomes less treacherous to ride again. I would also like to be able to put some sort of rack/platform on the back to strap gear or even a platform to take my dog back into areas for quail. I know this post is all over the place, so any input from any angle would be appreciated Thanks

    Fake Yeti coolers?

I heard yetis are the ultimate trap to catch kuiu bros... Apparently you prop it up with a stick, leave a trail of MTN Ops preworkout to it and seal the deal with a tube of astroglide underneath.

    i got caught red handed

Can you use the other products in the off-season for getting animals on trail cams, etc? Or, is it illegal to set out any bait/lure other than livestock-type, for any reason? Is there a limit to the number of days before a hunt that you can set the bait/lure out? Even if you aren't hunting directly over it, but hunting in the "general area" of the bait, to me, would be considered aiding in the taking of big game. Attracting Wildlife with Unlawful Measures (R12-4-303 A 2 c) Page 126 Using any lure, attractant, or cover scent containing any cervid (deer) urine to take wildlife is unlawful. R12-4-303 4, page 126 Using edible or ingestible substances, other than water or salt/mineral products produced for the livestock industry, to aid in the taking of big game is unlawful.

Dirt/Trail Bike for getting into remote areas

Took it out Sat 9/2 and learned a lot about going up steep, nasty, rocky, washed out roads. Tough to keep the necessary momentum with the fear of bringing the front up and falling back. Luckily no major drops or falls and the bike seemed to handle it all in stride. One scary moment when I was riding along and there was a pop and i completely lost compression... thought I blew a hole right through the cylinder or something, but somehow the spark plug had vibrated completely loose and poppped out. After letting it cool down and finger tightening it, I was able to continue for the rest of the trek. Was able to get back into an area that doesn't seem like many do and got a couple of cameras set up. Can't wait to go check em!
