I have no kills with the eld-x But the eld-m in my .338 at 285 grains take my 12 inch gong and flip it over at 700 yards. It looks really devastating compared to my 6.5 creedmoor that just swings it a little.

I was torn between two options wanting to have exposed turrets to dial shots and wanting the clear glass and not a complicated reticle to get in the way. I contacted eurooptic and talked to Jason and decided on a swaro x5i. I am very pleased at this decision and would love to have a second one but at this point it is alot of money. I also was looking at a ffp scope but never looked through one it is the Kahles 624I as suggested by Lance I would like to use one and try it but went with swaro because there is no question on the optic quality I would be getting and at full power which is were I will shoot after 300 yards it will dial the same as a ffp. Mil or Moa was another option with other scopes and I went with moa as that is all they offer on x5i. As I go and shoot my Vortex Pst ffp scope at the same time both work well but there is no comparison between optic quality. as for rings i would like to try but do not own the burris xtr with the shims so you can -20 and +20 and you could get 40 moa out of that with flat rail

Sounds like the hunting is a good time, and killing is slow.

My 338 Lapua had the same problem till I cleaned it it shoots great clean so I keep it clean. I use wipe out accelerator and foam it took 4-5 treatments to get it completely clean

what dates? is it the thanksgiving hunt or the week after? My dad had the thanksgiving hunt up there last year and there were a thousand people to help the 600 hunters with that tag. I had the following week early december and there were very few people other than hunters. I must have been in the wrong spots in 14 days only saw 200-300 cows and 7 bulls total. 2-spikes and 5- that were 4x4. three of which were walking through downtown strawberry.

Not sure on this one as I did not do diagnoses but common problem is low oil pressure to camshaft phasers and causes a rattle usuall need to do oil pump, timing chain guides and phasers. Good luck with sale does it still run and is just noisy at idle hot?

I would look for a new spot with less people.

I use wipe out and accelerator after every time to the range first shot is dead on and no oil in barrel. My .338 lapua shoot 1/2 moa and likes to be clean. My 6.5 creedmoor I have not had long enough to know what it likes yet but have been treating it the same way. and it shoots 1/2 moa also. I can control the clean barrel and if it shoots well with a clean barrel I will keep doing it. I used to rarely clean a barrel and had accuracy go away on .338 lapua after 60 rounds when most guys claim they get better. I think you have to take each one on its own . Most trips to the range are 3-10 shots through the .338 and 20-40 through the 6.5 I have spent the last year with .338 and learning its likes and dislikes and with two tags this year I will stay with what is working but I often want to shoot till loss of accuracy to see how long it will go.

I like federal primers as well but have had good luck with winchester in everything I shoot. Pistols, rifles, magnums, all good with winchester. I would like to see someone load up identicle loads with different primer and run groups I doubt there would be a difference.

that is almost my identicle load with 4350 but that powder has been difficult for me to find so i,m using superformance with near identicle results. I,m also using a winchester wlr primer.

I have found when shooting I need to make sure the rifle recoils freely for my most accurate shots. I try and use as little input from me as possible rest my cheek on the cheek rest and lay my hand lightly on the side of the rifle no thumb over the stock and pull the trigger back with steady even force till it goes off. The best thing I have found for accuracy is lighter trigger weight and do not try and manage recoil with tight holds.
