Last one I killed was on the first day of the hunt. After spending all morning glassing and not seeing anything, I walked right into a herd while changing glassing positions. The moral of that story is to always glass all around you even when you’re in the move. The one before that took 8 days (spread through the season, not consecutive days) just to find the first herd.... they can be tough to locate sometimes. They have a pretty big range, but seem dedicated to the spots they like. It may take them several days or even a week or more to get back to a spot you’ve found sign in. I keep track of all the spots where I’ve seen them or lots of sign and make a route. Keep hiking and glassing that route for a few days, don’t give up after just one day. It sometimes takes a little while for them to get back into town, so to speak.

Long story, but the short short version is we got burned a little on a large tile job. Need somebody to finish and fix. And we’ve got more work afterwards.... if anyone does this type of work or knows someone I’d appreciate the referral. call Matt at (602)908-2931

The tree saddle is more like a butt hammock than a harness. I’ve spent up to 5 hours at a time in them over and over again, and killed two deer out of it this year. tree saddles are light weight , faster and easier to set up than a tree stand and offer greater concealment as they place you behind the tree instead of in front of it or to the side. You can also use a saddle in twisty gnarly trees that are impossible to place regular stands in, like big junipers for example. the only negative is the comfort doesn’t compare to a climber or nice fixed position stand with a back rest. If I’m sitting for a few hours, it’s the tree saddle. If it’s an all day sit, have to have my viper summit climber.

Very cool stuff. Our bucks haven’t shown up yet, but I’ve got does and minis all over the yard. A few weeks from now we’ll have bucks cruising down our streets I took these off the back porch the other day
