I've had a rough year for trail cams. A couple found new homes and the ones that made it just didn't turn up anything real great. Got some decent ones, but nothing that makes your jaw drop. Guess that's why it's fun, never know what you'll find or where you'll find it. Maybe next year!

Still better than anything I’ve seen in the last 365. Nice bucks bud.

Not one of those would get by me without ducking. Better than anything I got on cam this year

+1.
Very generous to share a good spot. I just caught a little fox at my cabin in the live trap last week. Kept finding what I though was coon poop all over the driveway, so I set up the trap and caught a fox instead. Cool little guys, pretty cranky too when in a trap.

I'm on the fence. I'd like to try the meat once, and if I don't care for it I won't kill another. I could've killed that little one, but I aint into killing bears that are too small to even make a hand towel out of.

Been a great year for seeing them. Between my buddy & I, I think we saw some where in the 8-10 range between scouting & hunting this year. Saw a lot of cubs this year too, including 2 without their mothers. I already posted the video of one that we saw in scouting, but then opening day of archery deer I had this guy under my treestand:

Think he'd be interested in any trades?

Worth a call to the forest service to ask. I've heard that they have some kind of protection, but if you didn't damage the cactus, I can't see it being a problem. The big ones are tough as heck and quite sturdy. They'd support a ladder stand, just probably need some carpeting or something to protect the cactus from the strap or chain.

That's an outstanding bt. congrats.

Our G&F regs have a ton of good info on success rate & draw odds for draw tags which can help you nail down what unit to put in for, and the G&F website has great starter points listed unit by unit.
Seems like everybody has their own favorite unit, but the truth is there are a ton of units that have great access and excellent trophy potential.
Good luck on your deer slam, I only need the two blacktail species to finish mine.

I get my wool on amazon. -33, icebreaker and smart wool all make good stuff. Not sure how prices compare to Sitka and kiui, but it’d be hard to not be cheaper than they are.

I shoot pistol with both eyes open, and plan to teach him to shoot pistol that way. Rifles is different though. I am thinking I should teach him to shoot left, but all my hardware is setup for right handers.
Get him an eye patch to cover his left eye while shooting until he's old enough to just close it. I bought one for myself years ago to use while glassing with a spotting scope. About $3 at wal-mart, easy peasy.

Better to be lucky than good. Better yet to be lucky & good.

Sorry I can't help. My best mule deer came out of 24b. But he was a pretty good one, at least by my standards.

That sucks about the side by side. Glad you didn't get banged up too bad.

I'm not sure how, but this has got to be Trump's fault.

Congrats on your bull!

I'd love to be in the 6-7 range, but probably really more like 2-3 range. Work is killing me. I'm sure I'll retire some day, then I'll try to do better at it.

Anniversaries too. Mine is 8/27. First couple years the wife said she didn't mind me being gone for archery deer.... there's a different song playing these days.

Make room for one more and I'll take you both to Christies afterwards. The one on Washington.
