I'll dig up a photo of the first 3 for you ballistics junkies. -

Shared a tinker project with the old man and built a 6.5x284. Built on a no.1 that was a 25-06. Douglas Supreme 26" and throated for 140 gr. Accubonds. Timney trigger. Shoots ragged holes @100. Doesn't change M.O.A much @300. Haven't stretched the legs much. Work was done at Lawson's shop. -
It was in an issue a couple months ago and struck me as hilarious. If you can help me out, I would appreciate it.

Anyone have this year's elk/antelope draw report?
Allforelk replied to bonecollector777's topic in Elk Hunting
If anyone gets a hold of it, will you post the pdf? -
I'm a cheap SOB, but I shell out $10 for Radarscope Pro every year. Check it out.

Please buy GM. My bonus depends on it.

This system looks like it has a little left in it. Hope it keeps trending your way 6aNut.

Had to make an emergency run up to Cottonwood. Mother in law was sitting in a 90 degree house and she is 72. Got her up and running and on the drive home the wife and I saw a cow elk and 2 calfs. They were feeding on the East side of I-17, South of Cienega Creek. Pulled over and ran back to verify with the glove box 8x32.

You are racing our enlisted boys sir. What I saw on I-17 leads me to believe our rich uncle has an interest also.

Just South of the OTC border.

I agree. I have had to run this mission with quail guts during hot Octobers, I used the dumpster behind a large Asian Market. Trust me, nobody noticed.

Which nonlead 180 grain load for .30-06?
Allforelk replied to Heat's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I have been shooting 180 grain Failsafes for years, but my supply will eventually run out. I also see the handwriting on the wall concerning lead projectiles. I developed a load for my .06 with 4831sc and 180 grain E Tips. My gun loves them. I have witnessed the effect on two mature bull elk and they do amazing work on vitals. One bull shot at 83 yards and the other at 504 yards. Both were pass throughs. -
Sounds like Tesla needs an SUV in the lineup.

Arrow speed and long range shooting
Allforelk replied to Pac8541's topic in Bows, arrows, broadheads
This thread has been interesting and informative. I came across a decent article delving into a bit of this. I enjoyed the math and physics behind the experiment. Hope you enjoy as well. https://www.google.com/url?q=http://archeryreport.com/2011/01/heavy-vs-light-arrows-speed-power/&sa=U&ved=0ahUKEwj85cvByIzNAhUUW2MKHYURApAQFggbMAA&sig2=AhYXRh2mZN1dK7WYMS1X1A&usg=AFQjCNFVQdrPidpMmchN8Ix8D6QQXaB90A -
Hmmm, so what was the strange object in the sky this morning?

Meteors tend to come in hard and fast. I have seen test footage of short range weapons throw up a similar trail when guidance systems go haywire. I will be up tomorrow with coffee waiting. -
Sorry for derailing the thread. Thanks for all the info. Looks like I'm buying a bear tag.
-
I've had the opportunity to eat quite a few critters on this planet but have never tried bear. Is it any good?

That elk was acting as a park ambassador and demonstrating the minimum distance boundary for a group of tourists.

I can't stop watching this. The camera man needs a nut punch for robbing us of the impact footage.
-
That footage is impressive. I've had them buzz me while enjoying a late night cocktail on the back patio and you never hear them until they're hooting in my trees.

I love the pic of the bull squaring off with the steer. Doesn't look like he's giving up any weight in that scrap.
